After being kicked off Medium for “hate”, and with the ongoing website problems at Uncommonground Media, until fixed I have published my journey from “TRA” to “GC” on substack.
I am not a member of the “LGBTQ+” community. I’m just gay. Exclusively sexually and romantically attracted to members of my own sex… and not all of them. I have *nothing* in common with “TQ+”, and I oppose an ideology that: 1/
@JustinTrudeau
The ridiculous thing is I bet you think you’re oh such a good ally to gay people.
You are not.
You are supporting enabling and promoting a profoundly homophobic ideology that erases the meaning and recognition of sex.
You do not support gay people.
- sees women as “social constructs”. No. Women are adult human females.
- advocates that young people and even children need medical intervention to “correct” their bodies, sterilising them and causing life long harm
- calls homosexuality “bigoted” and a “genital preference” 2/
- relentlessly bullies, smears and threatens anyone saying “no, I do not agree”, especially women
- demands access to every, space and provision set for others
- fails to understand safeguarding and that actually just because you want to do a thing *doesn’t mean you should* 3/
- uses gay rights as a Trojan horse, treats actual gay people with contempt and then demands loyalty.
- and then centres every tragedy, every event, everything to do with GAY pride *on gender identity*, but ALSO has additional things and then complains when LGB try to leave 4/
No.
Quite apart from the fact this started as “preferred” and it’s now pivoting to “required”, I will not be manipulated into playing someone else’s pretend fantasy about themselves because they demand it.
They can’t have that.
Pronouns aren’t preferred. They’re required.
Using someone’s correct pronouns is a simple act of kindness that can make a huge difference. Pronouns are a crucial part of someone’s identity, and no one should have to explain why their pronouns matter & should be respected! 🌈🌎
@AnonNews14
This has nothing to do with sexual orientation or the acceptance of lesbian or gay relationships. This is not “pride” to me. It’s exhibitionism.
This doesn’t represent me as a gay man any more.
Men taking drugs so they can breast feed a baby is so dystopian I don’t know where to begin.
There is absolutely no need for it, and the only reason to want to do it is deviant desire or utter contempt for women. Or both.
Well that doesn’t make sense. I’m not “cis”. I am an actual man. Women who identify as men are not. They are not any kind of man.
I don’t want to be “seen as different” nor do I care if you think I am/want to be.
I’m still not “cis”, because I am not part of your religion.
It seems that a lot of the same people who complain that trans women aren’t women, and trans men aren’t men are now complaining about being described as “cis”. Either you want to be seen as different or you don’t. You really can’t have it both ways
@stonewalluk
This is wrong. Sex IS binary. Children as young as 2 do not “recognise” their identity. They may be perceived by adults as being “different” because of a society that insists there are behaviours and traits boys or girls “should” have. That’s wrong, and you are enabling it.
What is the objection here really? The colours? The showing of skin? He’s not impersonating a pornified imagination of “woman” so like it or loathe it it’s a man in some clothes. Don’t like the style? Sure. But saying its “not normal” has connotations I don’t like.
@andrewdoyle_com
I am a left wing and libertarian minded person. This isn’t protest. This is mindless entitled vandalism. They must face consequences for this and not a “slap on the wrist”. Especially when ppl in genuine hardship face far worse consequences for criminal acts.
If you can’t see why this is deeply offensive and racist - then I recommend you reflect on that. Women for example are extremely diverse. All equally women.
None are male.
I’m still a homosexual “without the T”, and I owe men pretending to be women precisely nothing.
Point your finger stamp your foot - makes no difference. I’m not going to advocate for people who pretend to be something they’re not. 🤷♂️
I’m genuinely terrified by this. These people support - whether they are aware of it or not - the lifelong medicalisation of young people, who haven’t yet figured themselves out, and want to potentially criminalise anyone saying “I don’t think you need that”…
@LaurenRowello
Way off base here
1- kids do not need to see and should not see adult sexual content.
2- how dare you make “kink” an lgbt thing as if straight people are sexually unadventurous.
3- “get a room” (or sauna, private island, club, or ticket only party) applies. To *everyone*
@LukePollard
And I’m sorry - but it’s a debate. You work in the oldest debating chamber in the world. You do not get to say “it’s not a debate”.
I’ve fought for gay rights much of my adult life… *by debating* and winning people over who had concerns.
Do you know what politics is? 🤯
Never would 20 year old me have guessed that 44 year old me would get a reply to a comment on the internet such as this, and that they *really mean it*. Sometimes the absurdity of the situation really does just leap out.
I hate this. I hate the way that in 2022 most heterosexual people are perfectly fine with my being exclusively same sex attraction, but groups claiming to advocate for us actively hate us. This is hate. This right here.
This individual doesn’t matter, but it’s not the point.
@LukePollard
Clearly… no.
Could you possibly have hit every cliche in the book with this Contentless tweet?
People who identify as “non binary” already have all the rights we do.
And this is why I don’t care when people accuse me of “transphobia”. It’s plain to everyone with a working brain that JKR is absolutely spot on, but because India’s misogyny is even more extreme, he actually has the temerity to claim he’s the victim.
Stop and think. Why will Ant and Dec dressing up in an exaggerated, stereotyped image of the idea of “woman” help anyone “LGBTQ”? In what way? And how will it help “LGBTQ children”? What is an LGBTQ child? 1/
Sir you are a man. You are trying to intervene in a case to redefine “woman” to include you - a man - as a woman. You are a man. You didn’t “transition” you got a piece of paper and may have had some surgery or hormones, but you are a man, and I can see that. 1/
After this I think I will have to mute her. 😐
Dylan is a man making money out of the parody of women while actually pretending to be one. His performance is insulting, and the people who say “be kind” to him are basically showing that they infantilise gay men 1/
@Pollik
Don’t worry, I learned such a lot from looking at the abuse hurled at Dylan Mulvaney. It was that that brought me into this debate, and in all that time my views haven’t changed. I have learned more, and I’m glad of that, but I’m also aware of the bigger political picture and how
This is a photograph taken in March 1983 from the march protesting the homophobic murder of gay man Declan Flynn & the suspended sentences given to his murderers. Notice the sign that reads 'The police aren't on your side either. Pic is from GCN in 2018.
@stonewalluk
You are trashing your reputation, setting back gay acceptance decades and spreading false propaganda about child development. Trans identity in children is a reaction, a response, to being perceived as “different” by a sexist society. Stop affirming that.
@anyabike
@SinclairJM1987
@PantiBliss
@BetteMidler
This +1
And if people are worried about being perceived as “homophobic” because all of this is tacked on to “LGBTQ+” - please don’t be.
Lots of LGB ppl including me really don’t like this either.
TW: Owen Jones.
Consider this statement. I wish he would. What he is saying is being actually homosexual is fine, but you should keep it quiet to not offend heterosexuals who are under the false impression they too are “gay” 2/
Frustrating day. Please like this post or say hi if you agree that:
Homosexuality in men is generally not “caused” by abuse, that gay men are just a normal variant of men, and that same sex attraction doesn’t predispose men to a desire to abuse children.
If you want to save boys from becoming men driven around by their sexual desires then the one thing you do not want to do is tell them that acting on every sexual desire and fantasy they have is “ok”. Instead reinforce boundaries and let them know they will not come to harm 1/
As plenty of ppl on here go on about how horrid the words of
@jk_rowling
were in reference to talentless homophobic misogynistic narcissistic D-list media “celebrity” and man India Whilloughby, I’d like to remind them of why we say he is those things.
Here is what he said to me
Watching a series of ill-informed, gullible, vacuous and inexpert minor “celebs” and blue ticks rallying round and performatively expressing outrage/concern/grief because Mermaids have been exposed as *unsafe to children* is pretty nauseating.
@MyNottingham
That’s a disgraceful statement. Refusing to allow a lesbian to speak her views. In pride month. In the name of “inclusion”. I don’t need to read past the first paragraph to know this is wrong.
@MattWalshBlog
Matt. Again you make this left vs right. I am of the left. I’m also gay. I’m also very much against gender identity ideology. Those of us of “the left” and in the centre would gladly see this pernicious ideology defeated so I am not sure making it “right vs left” is helpful. 1/
@AnnelieseDodds
On such a day when I am furious with this “government” you once again show you are not *listening* to women and gay people *telling you* there is a *massive problem* with “LGBT+”. For goodness sake wake up and listen or you’re no better than the current government
#LGBWithoutTheT
@jk_rowling
I agree! Although… small point. “. I want them to be free to dress and present themselves however they like” - so do I but within reasonable limits. I don’t think it’s right for men to wear enormous fake breasts and parody women.
I don’t want them to cynically use that 🤗
More on this. This is a group of lesbians attempting to be part of pride. But because they are adamant that lesbians are female homosexuals the police have decided that’s “causing confrontation” and the can’t continue 1/
@NadiaWhittomeMP
This is ideological propaganda, not based in fact, and the reality of my exclusive same sex attraction doesn’t make me part of a “community”, certainly not one that supports and promotes an ideology that is sexist, misogynistic, homophobic and has no concept of safeguarding.
@roblee4
Why are you struggling with the legacy of a woman who fiercely stands up for the rights of women and girls, listens to and defends same sex attracted people, and does her utmost to protect children - while doing charity work and bringing pleasure to millions?
Boys must be given access to where girls are naked.
That’s what this says. If you don’t have a problem with that then I don’t know what to say.
Changing facilities are segregated by sex, not identity, for necessary reasons.
Girls will now face indirect discrimination.
This decision follows last week’s federal court ruling in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, which affirmed that trans students must have access to bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their gender.
No student should have to fear discrimination in school.
What a weird and possibly self hating man.
I am homosexual. Homosexual isn’t a dirty word.
Some people who use that term think it is, but saying someone using the correct word that describes my sexual orientation is likely homophobic is absurd.
Lesbians: we want to have a lesbian only event without men pretending to be lesbians invading.
Men pretending to be lesbians: “and how do you propose to stop us”
I mean, keep talking… 🤷♂️
And how is this going to be enforced - visual inspection? Skirt check? What’s your standardized criteria and how many biological women do you expect will fall out of this screening process? I’m betting, many…
And exactly how is this hetero-patriarchal praxis feminist?
I predict nearly all men looking at this would conclude the woman has absolutely no “case to answer”, and that a majority of men will immediately think “he’s lucky it was a woman with pepper spray”.
And if you can’t read the body language here then learnt it. For your safety.
Just read that.
I am a man. Reading it makes me feel “speechless”
Imagine being a woman or girl reading it. I can’t personally *feel* how utterly outrageous and deflating reading those words would be. I can try to imagine. If I do, it’s horrible.
I just want people to think about the “protest” at the lesbian project today.
When has it ever been legitimate to protest people, in this case women, for meeting to discuss things that affect them? No one is proposing anything that harms anyone, or discriminates…1/
@redlianak
All of them? If you give womens rights to men by self identification they are no longer womens rights. If you redefine woman to include men there are no womens rights.
@olafdoesstuff
When will people realise that this bigotry just won't be tolerated.
Ellie is a woman. Looks like a woman, dresses like a woman, and identifies as one.
These outdated ideas and stereotypes of gender should get in the bin along with the people making them. Tolerance is the way.
This is bizarre. It’s like a catechism.
And it’s lies.
Using incorrect pronouns isn’t any of that, it’s participation in someone else’s fantasy about themselves, when they aren’t even there. It’s about power and control.
Say no.
Using correct pronouns is suicide prevention.
Using correct pronouns transcends gender identity.
Using correct pronouns is basic human dignity.
Using correct pronouns is affirming and validating.
Using correct pronouns is allyship in action.
#InternationalPronounsDay
@bindelj
Once the tribunal is over, there must be a serious review as to whether Stonewall is, in fact, a trans charity larping as a gay rights charity. They have no right to claim advocacy for G or B people - let alone the “L”.
I would do this. It looks fun. Also it counts as calorie burning as that clearly takes effort. They also aren’t fat, and are women having fun. Is that your issue? If you’re some kind of “trainer” then you’re giving trainers a bad name.
And this is why I ended up realising - there is no test, because it’s not a thing, and all men must be kept out of women’s spaces. However they identify.
Please take a moment to see the utter absurdity that is now Pink News.
What other kind of sex? What happens to gender and sex are not the same?
This headline! 🤪
Actually Nadia the biggest threat to the LGB in this country is the TQ, a misogynistic homophobic boundary violating ideology that uses gay rights as a shield while denying what homosexuality is and harming women in particular.
You’re “allyship” is not wanted.
It’s the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
The LGBTQ community is under attack: from the far right, rightwing media and an increasingly radicalised Tory party.
Trans or cis, straight or queer - it’s on everyone to speak up against hate.
#IDAHOBIT
Well it’s public info now. I can’t “un know” that he has a very disturbing fetish which involves a particular sexualisation of disgust and taboo.
Which means he can’t do the job he’s doing. Because he’s a risk.
It’s not personal. 1/
And what people ought to be saying to themselves is hmm, If Matt Walsh and conservatives are saying somethings wrong, left wing feminists are saying somethings wrong, and veteran gay activists present at stonewall riot are saying somethings wrong,
Maybe something is VERY wrong
This is such a childish disingenuous argument. I am a man. I am not a woman. I do not belong in womens spaces.
I should exist. I also DO exist.
Now extrapolate that to other people who are also men.
Bizarre cult like speak 🙄
@aytchellesse
By telling trans women they don’t belong in women’s spaces, you are telling them they’re not women, and by extension, that they shouldn’t exist. Did you never consider this was the natural conclusion trans people come to when you tell them they don’t belong in women’s spaces?
@Tampax
@gobeeharris
“People who bleed”. 🤔
Bleed “lose blood from the body as a result of injury or illness.”
Menstruation is normal. Bleeding is not. It’s concerning to muddle the two, as it sends entirely the wrong message.
I made myself watch this. He’s talking about children. Boys who have never had a sexual experience being reshaped into a resemblance of “woman” through invasive surgery, medicalising them for life because they’ve believed ppl who told them they are “wrong”.
It is abhorrent.
Portland surgeon talks about how virgin boys with puberty suppression are being helped to deal with the trauma, surgical violence and sexual abuse he has inflicted on them
The thing that always gets me here is “well if I walked into the men’s in this dress I might be attacked”
Lets says that’s true for arguments sake.
It doesn’t entitle you to invade women’s spaces, you can choose to not wear that dress. Women can’t choose to not be women.
I think we should remember that this actor did say this. This absurd virtue signalling nonsense gibberish claiming men are women.
Well Daniel, they aren’t. If a thousand “experts” advised me to call a man a woman - I wouldn’t, because it is a lie.
@ashtonpittman
Do you actually believe that “lesbians don’t like penises” - is an objectionable statement? Do you really think that this is “anti trans bigots”?
Do you have a problem with gay people saying we are gay? Because that’s what this means.
Not even a mention of actual GAY people and
A misogynistic slur against women - here depicted in the most ugly way as “hateful”
You may as well come out and say “feminazis” you bunch of homophobic MRAs.
If being “trans” was anything like being gay (it isn’t), then asking someone to put pronouns in bio/email etc would be equivalent to asking someone to out themselves.
This never makes sense to me.
Delusional man. For the avoidance of doubt India Whiloughby is an unpleasant misogynistic narcissistic homophobic man who is doing this for attention.
He’s only saying this about Rowling to get himself more media coverage.
The last Pride I went to was in 2014. Even then there was a counter protest. A small group of lesbians we were warned to avoid. The “TERFs”. They were there, making their protest and I wish *now* I’d asked them why they were protesting, rather than doing as I was told…
@MyNottingham
Strike the 🏳️🌈 from your logo immediately. You don’t stand for inclusion in the slightest. It’s a grotesque insult to LGB people who haven’t fallen under the spell of TQ ideology.
I’m absolutely livid about this. At “pride”, but don’t say you’re actually gay - that’s confrontational.
THIS - is “don’t say gay”.
For gay men and lesbians - actual homosexuals - for goodness sake WAKE UP.
It's time for asexuality to be legally recognised and protected in the UK! Tomorrow,
@stonewalluk
and I will release the first ever report into asexual discrimination. I spoke to
@AttitudeMag
about asexual rights and our initiative!
#AceWeek2023
Women are being beaten for dancing in a video and you are putting out vacuous current trend virtue signals about people who desire to be seen as special when they are not.
You are a joke.
It seems a concerted attempt is underway where women who think they look like men are trying to undermine single sex safeguards by making a spurious point about them not “belonging” on women’s wards.
First, it’s not the same at all. If you want to not be on a woman’s ward 🤷♂️ 1/
This is not equivalent to coming out as gay. Coming out as “non binary” is about as interesting as saying you’re going to be vegan… and to be fair to vegans that is actually a difficult thing to do in our society. This isn’t. 1/
so have been doing some thinking these past few months and taking some time to reflect on things
And I have some personal news I am happy to share with you all...
- - - - I am non-binary *waves*
@MayorofLondon
Did anyone ask if people born with VSDs wanted to be put under an umbrella? Did anyone ask LGB people whether we wanted to be forced to advocate for gender identity ideology? Can you not see how offensive this is? This flag doesn’t represent me.
The sexualised look, posture and juxtaposition of children’s toys here makes me feel disgust. Strong disgust. This is not about the latest “argument” on who said what - this is about saying what I see. 1/
Why is there a need to have an exaggerated caricature of the sexualised stereotype of “woman”, performed by a man, to read to children? 0-6? Who is benefiting? What is this for? And why is this associated with 🏳️🌈?? 1/
🏳️🌈 Drag Queen Story Hour sashays into Elgin Library this weekend!
Running from 10am, Moray’s very own Miss Lossie Mouth, will lead a fun and interactive show suitable for children aged 0-6.
Full story:
This, is terrifying. Not the story - that’s just appalling. What’s terrifying is the spin - the propaganda that the
@Independent
is putting on it.
This isn’t heroic or glorious - it’s mutilation by untrained individuals on others, because of a belief.
And you’re glorifying it
Oh Max. You think violently bullying women into silence is winning? You think that’s an end to it? Well I have some unfortunate news. People who stand for freedom, for women’s rights and gay rights - not trans demands, are still here, and aren’t going anywhere 1/
And with thunderous applause from thousands of human rights defenders, the Posie Parker tour of Auckland is over before it again. Trans rights wins 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
This is the kind of thing that’s going to be difficult as Helen Joyce pointed out. This human being came to her and said “this is who I am”. But it wasn’t true. No matter how much he wanted it or believed it - it wasn’t true and it still isn’t true. And he can’t have that.
Jamie Lee Curtis talks about defending her trans daughter, Ruby, in new interview:
“This is my daughter, this human being has come to me and said, This is who I am. And my job is to say, ‘Welcome home.’ I will fight and defend her right to exist to anyone who claims that she…
@OnTheWomanQ
@matinfue
I’m gay - as in exclusively attracted to my own sex. This is distressing to witness. We had to - and continue to have to - justify our sexual orientation in order to be left alone. How anyone can see this and not immediately realise this is *conversion therapy* is beyond me.
Well here’s your problem Nancy. You - Ie stonewall - demanded this. Then you were told no, then went about like it was the law anyway.
You demanded far too much and ignored the no.
You demanded we comply with your ideology. And now more people are seeing that and saying no.
Deeply saddened to see today's British Social Attitudes Survey shows such a marked decline in positive attitudes to trans people. In 2019 82% of us said we "weren't prejudiced at all" towards trans people - now just 64% of us feel we can say the same. 1/5
My Tree of the Day is the one that was made into this door. I mean, honestly, what is the problem? You go into a communal space, there are men and women, no urinals full of fag ends and chewing gum, no spraying and checking out for size, just private toilets for all. Much better
Let me say this one more time. I am a gay man. I oppose surrogacy. Plenty of gay men oppose surrogacy. Others don’t. You may not and we can disagree.
However - calling objections to surrogacy “homophobic” every time the prospective parents are gay - is out of order. 1/
@reclaimpridebtn
No you didn’t. You encouraged the bullying and intimidation of a peaceful gathering of women. And a few of you turned up, did that, made fools of yourselves and some got arrested. Eventually everyone will see through lies like this.
@EssexPoliceUK
Hi. Two things.
1- it appears you are implicitly supporting a political movement (gender identity ideology) which is worrying. The police should not hold political positions, and as a gay man I find gender identity anti women and homophobic.
2-…
