Despite the absolute debacle of SPD’s closing, my book, HIGH PRIESTESS OF THE APOCALYPSE, ✨lives✨! She’ll be here soon, but she is officially on her way. She has a cover and everything! There's even a preorder link!! >>
@ambernoelle
My rib cage will never be the same! People are so obsessed with weight, but never talk about how *your bones are in a different place than before.*
This part. It's not an age-gap relationship, it's a relationship in which the author has ceded her sense of self in exchange for proximity to power. I'm so tired of watching us sell ourselves out to systems that don't care about us.
That piece in The Cut is something we’re going to see a lot more of: Reddit’s Red Pill Women content beautified, ideology softened so that young women can swallow it whole.
We should be wary of arguments that uphold the fantasies of capitalism and its hierarchies of power
Maybe it’s my grief talking, but every morning I wake up wanting to shake every person I see and scream, “We’re all going to die! Be kinder than you think is strictly necessary!”
@AditiJuneja3
I think this is the problem with agreeing to disagree.
Like, there's a big difference between, "Let's respect each other's diversity of tactics in how we work toward a common goal" and "this person doesn't think I'm a sovereign being."
My friend, Jen Angel, was the coolest, the most fun, and the fiercest spirit. She was an essential part of so many communities. She passed away tonight, and there is no measure to how much I will miss her and no overstating the size of our collective loss. She is irreplaceable.
@ambernoelle
Also, finding those opportunities in the first place?? I’ve gotten some of my biggest bylines from calls for pitches, etc from Twitter. Like, I’m not that cool, editors aren’t soliciting me.
@ambernoelle
She was a riot. Put herself through high school, college and law school at night. Divorced her husband and became a family attorney to get women fair divorce settlements in the 50s/60s.
@AnaMardoll
Mark Cuban just started a cheap online pharmacy deliberately designed to undercut pharma companies. We just need that kind of thing from every single one of them.
I received a truly unexpected acceptance last night from
@StanchionZine
and I cannot stop smiling. My work is going to be in print in (at least) three places next year and that feels incredibly rad.
✨✨✨Personal news!✨✨✨
Thrilled to announce that my first book, HIGH PRIESTESS OF THE APOCALYPSE, will be published by
@EmergeJournal
in February 2024. This memoir traces my journey as an activist and activist parent and reckons with how to turn dread into action. 🧵

As a parent, I cannot imagine any other reaction than, "Thank you for trusting me enough to show me your true self." Seriously. The world is so hard. You want to be yourself with me? What an honor.
@ambernoelle
It really is, and I'm sorry. And I truly hate the weird competitiveness and gatekeeping around it. Climate grief is enormous and we're all allowed to feel our feelings in our own time.
Thanks to donations, we've been able to purchase and send almost 5000 eSims for Palestinians!

@ambernoelle
Very much this. Like, we should be making each others’ lives more easeful and pleasant and joyful. I didn’t realize that thinking that was so controversial?
@dklineii
Oof, this one got me. I got sober just before my kid turned two. I've got more than three years now, and stories like this keep me going. Much gratitude to you and your dad. ❤️
For
@ElectricLit
I wrote about addiction memoirs, getting sober, and feeling not fucked up enough to deserve help. All the gratitude to
@TheDenneMichele
for her kind editorial guidance and giving this vulnerable piece a home.
So thrilled to receive this Pushcart Prize nomination from
@ReservoirRoad
—with huge thanks to
@AdrienneMarie_
for giving a home to one of my favorite things I’ve written all year. My heart is so full. 💜💜💜
✨✨Dream come true!✨✨
I'm in
@Longreads
today with a piece of my heart, about horseback riding, disability, intuition, self-advocacy, and being a police liaison.
Thanks to
@kristastevens
for being a deeply kind and thoughtful editor.
@svershbow
This is what I'm saying. We've endured 17.5 major publishing discourses in the last 3 weeks alone, and they think they can come crawling back *now*? It's rude, is what it is.
@RaxKingIsDead
Yup. And when I was breastfeeding, they were like, “here’s the one SSRI that won’t kill your baby! It probably won’t help your depression either, lol! But it’s not like postpartum depression is a big deal.”
@clhubes
My favorite sound in the world is someone else's kid losing their entire shit and being able to mentally say, "Not my problem," and then go back to whatever I was doing.
@IBJIYONGI
I've worked with a bunch of West Virginians over the years and the way that whole state has been treated like a sacrifice zone and their radical has been erased... It's a lot.
I’m going to the
@breadloafwriter
Environmental Writers Conference! And one of my favorite pieces of writing ever is coming out next week in a ✨dream✨ outlet. And it was 70 and sunny today so I got to bust out my Barbiecore look. Feeling v pleased.
@ambernoelle
Lol, I had to retire from reading tarot for others after predicting a pregnancy for someone who had not been planning to have a baby. Her kid is six now.
🎉 A piece I love was just picked up by a mag I love. It's about coyotes; the inventor of the linotype machine; family lore; seeing my dead grandmother as a coyote; James Garner (star of the Rockford Files); and making fudge. Among other things.
Can't wait for you to read it.❤️
@AlisonB916
You made mine. I understood a lot of these pieces intellectually, but it’s another thing to see it laid out. And you’re right. Anything short of revolution (with accompanying mutual aid and solidarity) is a stop-gap.
Friendly reminder: you (probably) need to update your author website. And if yours is up to date, you should go get yourself a donut*.
*ymmv, feel free to substitute appropriate treat here.
Hi loves, if you are able, it would mean the world to me if you would preorder my book. The world is tough for authors and small presses right now—your support is vital and deeply appreciated. ❤️
HIGH PRIESTESS OF THE APOCALYPSE is a lyrical exploration of disobedience, grief, and healing. This memoir reckons w/climate grief, the impulse to fight for what we love, & how to turn dread into action.
@ChristyTending
’s memoir will subsume you. Preorder:
Delighted to have this piece up at
@BendingGenres
today! I wrote this piece in
@writesloud
’s nonfiction workshop this past summer. Much gratitude to
@rgvaughan
and the Bending Genres team for giving this piece a home.
Starbucks workers are DOUBLING DOWN.
Starting today, over 1,000 baristas are walking out on a THREE DAY STRIKE, making this the longest collective action of our campaign yet.

Mosab is a Gazan medical student in Egypt whose family has lost everything and can't cover his tuition. He has to pay $3,000 USD within the next 2 weeks to be able to start his last semester.
I kicked in $5, can you match me?
We don't need to explain how critical it is to support our people from Gaza wherever they are in the world - we know you already know. If you haven't adopted a fundraiser yet, this one is ready for your efforts.
