Hello everyone hope you’re having a good day. Today I’m thinking about my old pal Sean Lock, and his family. And I’m sending out good thoughts to all those of you who are missing someone today.
Today it’s a year since we lost the brilliant comedian and my dear friend Sean Lock. I’m thinking about him and his family. Our page is still up if you’d like to donate.
@macmillancancer
Thanks . Miss you Sean
This August it’ll be a year since we lost Sean. So I’m walking 100 miles of the South West Coast Path which Sean loved, with Sean’s family and friends to share stories and to raise funds for
@macmillancancer
. Any donations hugely appreciated thanks.
A massive thank you to everyone who supported us for
#Strictly2020
and to all those of you who voted. This win means a huge amount to me and my amazing teacher
@OtiMabuse
. I am thrilled for her. She is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. All power to you OM x
Suggestions on who could possibly replace the PM - Four chipper stoats and a can of Red Bull, a reasonably engaged Shetland Pony, a set of Occasional Tables, Sven-Goran Ericksson, 1 x Tortilla Bowl with extra guacamole + 1 Pepsi Max, assorted lengths of coarse twill etc etc
Congratulations to
@SamRyderMusic
great song and brilliant performance, getting more points than the last 11 uk entries put together at
@Eurovision
! Finally , with a beardy longhair rocking out singing about space we are going in the right direction!
Well played England . First final In 55 years a great achievement . Only a year until the World Cup, a young side full of talent, who played well on the pitch and conducted themselves with dignity off it - unlike some thuggish boneheaded fans who deserve our contempt.
Happy New Year everyone. About this time last year, I said something rash like ‘looking forward to 2020’ , so now I’m saying let’s take 2021 one day at a time. Today has been good so far. See you at a show sometime soon.
So farewell then, Laminated Book of Dreams, Wipe-Clean Almanac of Aspirations, Sanitised Lexicon of Possibility. I, like so many others, will briefly mourn your passing before instantly kowtowing to our new Touch-Screen Overlords .
Delighted to be partnered with the wonderful
@OtiMabuse

Ah what a great man Barry Cryer was. A brilliantly funny writer and performer who was one of the kindest and most generous souls I ever met in the world of comedy or anywhere else. RIP Barry
Day 8 of quarantine in Auckland- looking forward to performing around NZ soon. Joined some Zoom dance/fitness classes with
@OtiMabuse
, been on supervised walks in the hotel car park- I am also talking to the sparrow with whom I share my muffin- that’s normal right?
On a grey dreich day of mizzling rain and endless bad news, the sight of two Goldcrest plinking about in the hedge outside my window is lifting my spirits no end
On my way to a film set this morning, a bit fuzzy of head. Last night I roared, sang, danced in the street, nearly hugged a Deliveroo rider, waggled my arms and cheered at passing cars - what is this madness, is this what hope looks like?
Limbering up on the Thames Path for the big charity walk in August in memory of my old pal Sean Lock-and to raise money for
@macmillancancer
page is up and donations are welcome thanks
Going through some photos from two years ago and found this trio of larrikins. Muggins, Mr Jeremy Hardy and Mr Alexei Sayle. A good time was had as I recall.
A beautiful morning of clear skies, of sun and moon both visible, a bit of Chantelle’s Paradox for my birthday. Thanks for all your good wishes - I will raise a glass to you all .
Whatever the outcome of
#ashes2019
I will never forget Ben Stokes crashing the winning four through the covers. I was driving through rural Sweden with Mr Sean Lock, and we pulled over in a garage forecourt, got out, hugged and danced a jig to the amusement of passing motorists
This is the old wine episode . Ha! We had to drink so much Ribena prop wine, we started to get nauseous, so we switched to actual red wine as it was easier to drink . That will always be our excuse , Dylan back me up, oh wait you are not on twitter

Am blown away by all your lovely words about
#Limboland
, and deeply moved by your comments about the restorative power of laughter in these grim times. Thank you all.
Now that Edward Colston’s statue has been toppled into the harbour, the time has come to change the name of the Colston Hall. Maybe make it after the Bristolian writer, educator and anti-slavery campaigner Hannah More? Just a thought .
I often dream of being in a wild place , somewhere under a big sky, peaceful and remote and exotic but sometimes a wheatfield in Hertfordshire is all it takes
With my delightful travel companion
@joelycett
on a husky sleigh-ride in Iceland , one of my highlights of 2021. You can see the Travelman on

Dec 27th I believe
Was meant to be at Reading Festival now, the son on guitar with my band as we played ‘Killing in the Name Of’ in a joyous post GCSE cathartic noise-attack. Instead we shall play an acoustic version in my shed,drink warm lager and eat a disappointing panini as tribute.
Clear blue sky over the Thames, just a hop and a skip from the Black Lion pub. Not a bad spot to launch a paddleboard. Or enjoy a pint in the olden days.
Thanks for all the lovely birthday messages. I accept them as belated wishes for my actual birthday which is in January, the 13th and it was in’65 so papers all wrong . Fake news! SAD! Anyway here’s me celebratin’
Had to fly back from Hamburg as my gigs in Lisbon, Utrecht , Athens & Munich have now been postponed but on the plus side there was a VIP area at the baggage reclaim
