The work to keep Medgar Evers’ legacy alive will continue to be a testament to the enduring power of his vision and the dedication of those who honor his memory.
Rep. Bennie G. Thompson was little when civil rights leader Medgar Evers died in 1963.
However, Evers' legacy had a lasting impact on Thompson as President Biden posthumously awarded Evers the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
