Plant based trial today (genuinely wanted it to taste ok and be given a challenge to differentiate!) 🤮 No problem with vegans whatsoever, just don’t tell us it tastes the same, nor force your choices on us. One can only assume you get used to it and the expectation is set low!

The last reactor,number 53 of what has truly been a terrible day for us. Questions remain around testing regimes when just 60 days ago we completed a skin test AND gamma blood tests which showed nowhere near this level of infection within the herd. Shocked,upset and lost!

Why tf @morrisons can’t stock British pears🍐 when they’re in season here is beyond me. There’s been lots of posts re empty shelves at supermarkets over the wkend-this is what happens when 🇬🇧supermarkets don’t support 🇬🇧farmers, screw them down on price-farmers stop producing 1/2

As a British pig farmer I take immense pride in the knowledge we have some of the highest welfare standards in the world. BUT it is such a kick in the teeth when that is undermined by bringing in foreign pork (and a shed load of it) that does not meet the same standards. 1/2

As a farming sector that’s never been subsidised🐖 I’ve no issue with others being sub’d-keeps food cheap. I’d quite like the supply chain to be fair so supermarkets&processors STOP RINSING FARMERS. Seriously though,why do so many not grasp the fact that subs keep food cheap?!🤷‍♀️

Harsh #reality 😔 Goals today were to have no pigs dead/none to euthanise and to not get too smelly before Xmas lunch. Failed on all 3 counts-1 dead (unknown cause), 1 to euthanise (heart attack having been bullied), &positively stinking-late for lunch shower was 💯req’d #farming

10yo son took hoover off me tonight, usual suspects- straw,dog hair, chewed twigs (thanks pup) then whilst in the shower CLEANED the shower (which was minging-been on to do list). I may be incapable of finding a decent fella but I’ve bred&raising 👌 frigging hubby material 😂💙

Just heard on @bbc5live that @asda are rationing eggs because of #avianflu What utter BS ! It’s because retailers refuse to pay farmers a fair price! Pay a fair price&farmers will produce as much as you like, they’re not going to invest only to subsidise profit. Jesus wept 🤦‍♀️
