Omg!😭😭😭❤️I woke up to an acceptance letter.
Quite uplifting because I've been basking in rejection letters lately.
And yeah, I'm getting paid for it. Thank you Kreative Diadem for this.
My chapbook, I Know the Origin of my Tremor, was selected as a runner up for Sundress Publication ninth annual chapbook competition.
Special thanks to
@estebanjrod11

wish i was a trust fund baby, that way i get to dip in & out of whatever interests me without genuinely thinking of my future. like one day i'm trying out photography, the next i'm doing some neuro work, and then maybe music, acting, teaching, at some other point.
My inability to read signals might be the reason why I’m still single. Because how am I hanging out with my friend and some folks, only for my friend to tell me later that someone was hitting up on me? All the while, I kept thinking they were just nice and well-mannered. 💀💀💀
"It’s hard to know the year, but it’s a fact. It really happened. Everybody saw it. After all, what’s the alternative: That an entire country had a choreographed hallucination? A nationwide delusion?"

@agbowoart

😭😭😭😭😭🤣Where are y'all getting the juju to write spellbinding poems? Asking for a friend.
What is discipline? The ground floor of freedom.
What is a floor? The thing that mirrors the ceiling.
What is a ceiling? Wherever your imagination ends.
What is an ending? Necessary. See also: inevitable.
What is normal? Not compulsory.

i don't know if this is a thing, but really i love how authoritative Eloghosa Osunde's writing is. like yeah, turn me into your bitch, take all my attention, my breath? no, i don't deserve it! draw me in, make me curl up in bed lost in you.
“Poetry is capable of sitting inside memory, and fetching from it. Poetry would teach your hands how to write your memories, teach your body how to react to its own offerings.”

Such a delight to have my poem appear in The Muse Journal, which is the oldest surviving students’ journal in West Africa. Also founded by Chinua Achebe.
Special thanks to the editors.
Issue 6 is here! Despite grappling with supply chain chaos, this little beauty has arrived safe and sound. Poems about coming out, families, conceiving, partying + lusting after loved ones; we think this batch has it all. You can grab a copy via our website. Link in the darn bio!
My parents: Do you think you can drive the other car from here to the village.
Me: I’ve never driven on a highway

Me: I don’t know how to kill chicken
Parents:
& to resist the temptation of posting all screenshots from her writing on my WhatsApp status is really a thing. God save us because Eloghosa doesn't have any mercy to spare us!

Lately, I’ve been cutting my own hair. The panic from getting it all wrong has been thrilling. Tell me why I have the urge now to further experiment— like taking my beards off & leaving just my mustache to see how I look?
