I took a CBE this day last year as dad was unhappy I turned down an OBE before he passed away in 2013. He said it was a measure of how far we’d come as immigrants. The CBE offer letter arrived on his birthday and I was awarded it on his wedding anniversary. So to mum and dad. ❤️
