Dushane in topboy came all the way back from country in JA and didn’t bring back no breadfruit, mango or cane for his mum... the vibes were bad from then
They just said on loose women & confirmed Brenda wanted to wait to announce publicly on her own terms about her son and it was taken away from her from people/platforms tweeting/posting the news too early, so some of those tweets were warranted, we got to do better. Devastating.
I’ve seen black people with London, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Sheffield, Blackburn, Nottingham, Manchester, Irish + more accents on tv in one day for the first time ever… something so simple shouldn’t be this rare, loving the representation

This Coronavirus stuff is serious.....just lost my job....... events/live industry is really suffering right now, spare a thought for anyone involved in it.
@TatyanaAli
Is! I even watched Dear Secret Santa, picture perfect holiday, Christmas hotel, Christmas Everlasting, jingle belle and Wrapped up in Christmas last month for one reason only
The joke thing is, Jerk isn’t just a bluddy sauce or a way of cooking, it’s actually a part of Jamaican cultural heritage & history, a form of cooking used by the maroons who hid in the mountains escaping from the Spanish hiding from the British, having to use natural spices....
Looking for black women R&B singers who want the chance to support one of the biggest R&B acts in Europe in London (got my people but want to open it up could be a big chance for someone)
Marvel VP Nate Moore says that Sam Wilson's journey in Captain America 4 will be about how he earns the Cap title without superpowers. "We're going to put him through the wringer and make him earn it."
This is why a man can go on national radio disrespect and say they “don’t need to marry you and can skip to kids” because of your heritage and she just sits and smiles like one beautiful dunce 🍠 head
Got a new car 😭 past couple years been 💩… mum had heart attack & nursing her better, covid/lockdown stuff = all income went, finally getting a daytime job in my industry but being made redundant (events manager) cuz of covid but I WORK HARD & earned this, 2022 will be diff 💰
Seasonings and pimento wood found there, some even say the enclosed way of cooking was originally done in a hole in the ground with leaves covering (later developed into jerk pan etc) which reduced the smoke so the maroons weren’t found in he mountains....so yeah bun Jamie Oliver

@SpideRhon
I think it’s because she went to the police about Sweet meddling in Jerry (Andre 3000) business and the cop was dirty and told so he put out a hit… she was also the only witness left of the robbery too so had to go
U.K. artists of Caribbean descent and ones doing Caribbean genres, really need to be more loud and proud and work together more than ever right now, needed more than ever, got way too complacent.
I’m crying how
@LifeOfAls
said a simple positive statement and guys with no comprehension are getting triggered and emotional
Tbf it makes a good R&B banger
@theashrb
@EllaDecember
This is one thing I really hate about Black Brits (and prob a big reason why I struggle to relate with them), growing up always having to defend my American side (which I can trace to 1600’s) because I’m “lying” or “beggin” but my Jamaican side is ok, rigghhht.
Oxtails is the American version
Oxtail is the Caribbean version
Both look different, both cooked different, both taste different
Respect each others culture and low the ignorance
It’s outrageous that it’s become the ‘norm’ to pay £1,000pm to rent a room in London.
And it’s only getting worse, with a further 18% increase expected in the next 4 years.
It’s time the Govt gave me the powers to freeze London rents.
Made the clubhouse Caribbean Diaspora group so all of us across the world can connect now nearly 3,200 members and conversations like this are happening and being created by members, this is what CH is for, love the fact everyone getting a voice/representation & connecting! ❤️
I told this Italian shop owner that I prefer his olive oil because it’s under £5 and good quality unlike the one in Tesco that’s £8.
The next day his was £8. 🙂
Them: “why does no one support UK R&B? We need to! What happened to (insert act)? We failed them, we should support them”
Me: “they released an EP two weeks ago and did a headline show yesterday didn’t you go?”
Them:
why do Londoners always flock to the same countries when deciding a holiday? Dubai, Greece, Cancun Mexico...like why do you like to fly out to see the same people 😭

Got something coming up very soon specifically for the grassroots U.K. R&B artists, the ones who are hungry, talented and don’t have the means, network or nepotism to get to the next level…. Something which will actually help and not waste their time
They say they don’t care about RnB in the UK but we showed they do this is how much
@Chxrrie

@keatingssixth
@tamaracharese

Very disappointed with this thread as someone who is all three (Black American, West Indian & Black Brit) Black British people didn’t start with Windrush, they were here before the transatlantic slave trade started (Portugal started it but on the Anglo side U.K. Started it first)
A 16 year old knowing a song from 2000 now
Is the equivalent to a 16 year old in 2002 knowing a song from 1980
I hope that puts it in perspective for people stop expecting to hear them in current/young music settings and accept you old 😭🤣
This is a perfect drag, british sarcasm in its highest form and not having to resort to lack of intelligence dumb insults going out of hand about healthcare/School shootings…. 10/10 🤣
Ok Tidal for DJs is here (officially although been like that for a while), this will completely change the record industry, artists getting paid from DJ sets and how record pools etc will work now
Getting sick of seeing groups of people and platforms in the U.K. (London) using and/or ridiculing Jamaican culture with not one Jamaican actually involved in a proper level and getting away with it because “We are all black” so think they have free reign/right & it’s not as bad
What I’ve seen main demos in black communities everywhere else is 🇯🇲 but Brum next level
Jamaica = Birmingham (West Mids in general)
St Kitts = Birmingham (& West Mids)

Love what Teyana Taylor is doing with artist/performance development.
Not my place as she’s living her life and happy but still makes me sad as she should be one of the (if not the) top R&B artist of this and future gen, her talent/potential is through the roof
@Shay_Hendricks
It’s not sad he does know, it comes from America the same way yours is from Jamaica and St Lucia… the same boats who forced your ancestors to the Caribbean forced his to America.
