The wheels on the bus...are powered by electricity!
Today, we unveiled two new EV buses to our fleet. Each bus will eliminate approx. 17 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year.

HUGE thanks to the many district staff who are clearing snow making schools accessible. Also...BIG ups to the road workers that have been working 12 hour shifts (or longer). Thanks for making our roads safe to drive on.

Seaview Elem students decorated feathers with something meaningful or significant to them! When put together, the wings created feathers. The wings represent students & how when the students come together, they have the capacity to create something beautiful and powerful!
Grade 6/7 students @ Seaview Elem show their gratitude & appreciation for front line workers. Students made 500 stained glass paper hearts to go in the windows at Nanaimo Hospital with hopes it will bring a smile to all the patients as well

Students have been busy this summer attending community schools summer programs. Here's a sneak peak at Nanaimo Foodshare Society Kids Get Cooking program last week. The outdoor kitchen was a big hit; everyone was having fun while learning some cool, healthy recipes.
As we prepare to commemorate National Indigenous Month, we are reminded of Canada’s dark history, that of the residential school system. Last week, the bodies of 215 children were found at the Kamloops Indian Residential School.
