the US was late in imposing physical distancing and face coverings, but NYS and NYC were also late. It should have been one or two weeks earlier. Hindsight is 20/20 ... except when data from other places and previous epidemics can be used!

This is very important! Even if they have jobs lined up many places have a hiring pause, so postponing graduation or making sure that we PIs can keep them in payroll as starting postdocs is important!

I believe that PIs of students who are planning to graduate in the next few weeks would do well to inquire whether the students have a job lined up already. If not, I'd remind the student that their medical insurance will expire and possibly discuss postponing graduation.

I agree @jtdudman that there is no strong evidence that striatum does action selection. Action specificity does not imply that, at least in our view. Maybe action commitment for example? We need better experiments. There is some evidence of action selection in cortex.
