Invasion of the Big Brother. Pupil data is being used to check for benefit fraud and pursue parents under a secret deal between the education and work and pensions departments. There is no accountability and no way of knowing if data is abused.

Ministers failed to implement laws on water quality in England. More than 4 in five 5 & lakes are not in “good ecological condition” or “on a trajectory towards it”, We have govts for the corporations, not people. People vote, corporations control.

Post Office deceived barrister reviewing Horizon conviction, inquiry hears. Key document which would have halted prosecutions was ‘deliberately withheld’ from him. Stench of corruption is deep, no culprit charged for perverting justice. Will they ever?

In Tory England 900,000 children living in poverty miss out on Free School Meals. They are ‘eating rubbers’. Record 4.3m children live in poverty. Poverty is a political choice in a country where 1% has more wealth than 70% of the population combined.

This new @UKLabour document on the New Deal, issued to the unions on Monday, is a row back on a row back. It is totally unrecognisable from the original proposals produced with the unions. Unrecognisable. #WorkersRights

Police told in 2016 that Post Office prosecutor withheld evidence of Horizon errors from court. Police did what? There is institutional conspiracy - Police, lawyers, judges, directors, accountants, ministers, civil servants ... Will anyone be charged?

This is a betrayal of workers and their families as Starmer continues to appease big business and takes traditional Labour voters for granted. Is any pledge still honoured?

Nadhim Zahawi to stand down as MP at next general election. I suppose it will give him more time to count his money and do tax returns. How long before he gets corporate consultancies to secure govt favours for his paymasters?

Another Brexit Gift. England’s rivers to remain stinky because govt failed to replace EU clean water laws. It will cost £51bn to clean up. Water companies dumped sewage, paid dividends. Polluter pays - make companies, their shareholders, execs pay.

🧵1/5: All the warnings Unite made about the dangers of @UKLabour rowing back on its pledges for the 'New Deal for Workers' have been proved right. This new #Labour document on the New Deal, issued to the unions on Monday, is a row back on a row back.

look away now if you have zero interest in employment law, because this thread is going to compare and contrast - in minute detail - the 2021 Labour New Deal For Working People and the new, rewritten version which I got hold of yesterday.....

Tax rises will follow UK election unless fiscal rules are ripped up. Political parties promise economic growth without hiking taxes, more borrowing, QE or money creation - not possible. Rich & corporations must pay more - redistribution is long overdue.

Agency charges hospitals nearly £2000 for specialist nurse 12 hr shift. Nurse gets £1050; Thornbury Nursing Services £800. Cheaper to train/retain staff but govt failed. Thornbury ultimately controlled from Jersey -facilitates secrecy & profit shifting.

30k homes in East Sussex were left without water following a burst main. Piping declared 'outworn' 17 years ago was not replaced by Southern Water. Money sucked out as dividends. Customers, the environment lose every time. End the privatisation scam.

Legislators for Hire. Tory MP Philip Davies takes £500-an-hour consultancy job at gambling company. MPs are hired to advance corporate interests, not people's interests. Ban MP consultancies. They must serve the people, not be lackeys of corporations.
