Oh my God.
@StevenACohen2
said he knows me by name from metstwitter. I need a moment. He agreed its probably better I stick to minor league Mets info and not always with the sarcastic Mets tweets. Lesson now forever learned. Thank you Steve.
The best pitcher in baseball hasnt thrown an inning. Lindor has been slumping. Escobar hasn't shown his power yet. Marte just started hitting. The pen has been shaky. Both catchers are hovering around the Mendoza line. The New York Mets are in first place.
I mean yeah the Mets have the best win % in NL but it doesnt count because they are beating up on bad teams. They need to prove it. Try beating good teams like the Giants, Cardinals, Dodgers and Padres..........oh wait.
Mets are the last team in major league baseball to lose their first series. Based on my timeline you would think they were eliminated from the playoffs today.
Do Astros fans talk about JD Davis the way us Mets fans talk about every single player who ever leaves our beloved organization after struggling and then looks great elsewhere?
Reminder that Francisco Lindor will be about age 38 final year of his deal. Not 40 or 41. How quickly his contract is looking better and better. Good morning.
All jokes aside I wonder what it's like for Wilpons to watch Mets immediately be in first place with a top 3-5 league payroll, one of the biggest contract star players in MLB and one of the deepest teams depth wise in the game. With multiple signings, trades off to good starts.
Mets have finished below .500 in 4 of the last 5 years. Their one winning season resulted in 3rd place. They're on pace to have their best record in 15 years. For God sakes people can you at least pretend to enjoy the winning?
Think of how great the Mets are going to be when September callups Jacob degrom, Francisco Lindor and Noah Syndergaard join the team. Goodnight everyone.
For the love of God all Mets fans please support Brett Baty and not worry immediately what he does on the field or at the plate. I've considered him and Alvarez the next core prospects to arrive and stay.
Mets fans: Cohen has done nothing, same old Mets
*Mets acquire Lindor/Carrasco
Mets fans: we have a star! We run this! Suck it Yankees fans! Rent free ....!
*Blue Jays sign Springer
Mets fans: Cohen has done nothing. Same old Mets.
Today is a new day. Mets farm system stronger by the day. The cream is rising to the top as more prospects are getting promoted now. They are not rebuilding. Trading away 38 & 39 yr Olds is not a rebuild. Hey anyone notice Mark Vientos is being allowed to play and he's 7 for 21
For me one of the main storylines of the Mets first three games is Jeff McNeil being Jeff McNeil. Moving him around the lineup adding depth with Nimmo Marte at the top is deadly.
Mets P prospect Max Scherzer has 3 Ks in 2 scoreless innings so far tonight for AA Bingo. Lowering his current ERA to 3.38. Perhaps an arm to keep an eye on in Mets system.
Mets infielder Jose Peraza
Season: .208/.264/.392/.655
RISP: .292/.414/.542/.955
Men on base: .292/.382/.542/.923
It's kinda true. Some guys are just built for the pressure.
Francisco Lindor is one of the best players in MLB. He's come off as a leader who always says the right things publicly. He's solid defensively with speed and he's in his prime. Happy he's on the Mets and his contract will start looking smaller as new mega deals get signed..
Pitchers like Tylor Megill, Degrom, Lugo and prospect Jose Butto are the reason many teams around MLB grab minor league arms released by Mets yearly hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. Amateur scouting & Mets milb pitching coaches/coordinators have the respect of the league.
Soooooo Theo has the power to do anything he wants and still wants to for now. Beane didn't want to uproot his family, and the Brewers organization is denying access to their top people. Why is any of this a knock on the Mets organization and/or specifically Cohen/Sandy?
Padres are deep in trade talks with a couple teams involving Eric Hosmer — the Mets and Cubs believed among those teams. One scenario reported by
@dennistlin
has Hosmer and Chris Paddack being discussed in a trade scenario with the Mets for Dom Smith.
Mets are only 2.5 games back.

From the
#6
pick in the next draft according to tankathon site. If Mets finish in that spot they keep their pick there & it doesn't move 10 spots down due to being over luxury tax.
Good morning
Perhaps lost in the excitement over the games best prospect Francisco Alvarez is what Mets 3B prospect Brett Baty is doing in AA.
June: .326/.429/.517/.946
July: .316/.409/.614/1.023
I'm speaking from fan bias but someone tell me if Mets don't now immediately have a top 5 farm system in baseball at the moment with Cohen money at play for payroll.
1. CF Brandon Nimmo
2. C Francisco Alvarez
3. SS Francisco Lindor
4. 1B Pete Alonso
5. 3B Brett Baty
6. RF Starling Marte
7. 2B Jeff McNeil
8. DH Mark Vientos
9. LF Ronny Mauricio
Tommy Pham, who was strangely ignored at the trade deadline, pays dividends again for the
#Dbacks
with 1st-inning homer.
The DBacks gave up only minor league infielder Jeremy Rodriguez, who was not one of the
#Dbacks
’ top 30 prospects, with the
#Mets
paying half of his contract
Mets are above .500
Every team they've faced so far this season is multiple games over .500
It's almost...........almost..........almost as if the New York Mets are good and Stearns/Mendoza & company know what they are doing 🤷♂️
Per spotrac Francisco Lindor earning the 10th highest salary this season
Per fangraphs Francisco Lindor is 8th in MLB in total WAR
Take from this what you will.
Good morning everyone.
SOURCE : 2020 mlb draft rules set:

* 5 rounds

* Undrafted player signing period begins on 6/13 (20K max bonus)
*Draft signing deadline is 8/1
I assume Andres Gimenez is what the Mets dreamed Jed Lowrie would be for 2 years only Gimenez has more speed, better defense and he costs about 20 mil less.
OF Drew Gilbert sample size since joining Mets organization has now reached 32 games at AA level
.336/.431/.575/1.006
BB/K 17/26
The amount of top 30 organizational prospects sitting in AA/AAA next season gonna be wild.
It’s hard to understand how professional hitters can be this unproductive. The best teams have a more disciplined approach. The slugging and OPS numbers don’t lie.
Resident Mets prospect hugger here. I'm trading anyone in Mets farm system. No prospect in the Mets organization is untouchable when it comes to Juan Soto.
"I have not liked his tenure here as a Met. This is not what Steve Cohen paid for"
Yesterday's ejection was another reason why Boomer and Gio haven't loved Max Scherzer's "drama filled" Mets tenure:
Mets have the highest payroll in baseball and apparently now one of the biggest analytics departments in the game but if they dont hire Buck Showalter it seems a portion of metstwitter will still argue they suck and cant make good decisions. I look forward to this either way.
Mark Canha had a .367 OBP last season. Escobar hit 20 HRs and was hot down the stretch. I know we all want 26 all stars on the Mets but feel like they can be good again in 2023 and not be a black hole in the lineup 🤷♂️
Former Mets turned White Sox P prospect Bryce Hutchinson has reportedly overhauled his mechanics and is said to be back hitting 95+ MPH. Looks to project as a reliever (8th-9th inn ceiling) going forward. Hutchinson was unexpectedly released by Mets at start of milb season.
Colin Houck / 2B 3B SS
Luisangel Acuna / 2B SS
Marco Vargas / SS 2B 3B
A.J. Ewing / 2B LF CF
Boston Baro / 2B 3B SS
Jeremy Rodriguez / 2B SS
Nick Morabito / CF LF RF 2B
Where all the "shortstops" recently acquired by Mets have been playing defensively this season.
