Absolutely serious. The entire premise for women’s sport is to create a fair competition space where women can win, because it physically isn’t possible against men. Open the door for male physiological advantages & potentially every female competing in sport is affected.
Yesterday I lost the best dad anyone could ever wish for. The kindest, wisest, most patient and brave man who leaves behind so many people who loved him so much and whose lives he enriched. He and my mum gave us…
@PetesyWalsh
Transgender is different and I understand Navratilova’s point. If you are born and grow up male you cannot be allowed to compete in female sports simply because you ‘identify’ as female. It makes a mockery of the definitions of male and female sports categories.
After Monza last year, I believed
@EliudKipchoge
was capable of smashing the WR. Today he delivered in outstanding fashion and rewrote history, unbelievably strong and focused throughout and owned the Berlin Streets. New figures 2.01.39.

The serious significance here is worse because Boston is notoriously difficult to qualify for. Opening women’s QT’s up to any male who ‘self-identifies’ as female is unfair because the end result will be that female BQT’s are made harder due to the added numbers achieving them.
Boston marathon now allows males to self-ID as women no body changes required. Stevie has easily secured a place with a qualifying time of 3h 41. Any other male running this pace would have failed to qualify.

Saddened to hear the news that we have lost one of the true pioneers, trailblazers and iconic inspirations of our sport. Sir Roger Bannister showed that barriers are there to be broken and there are no limits.
Sending a big hug out to
@callhawk
and hoping he is physically ok. The marathon is brutal and a heart breaker but there is a lot more to come from this brave champion.
Plans to tackle childhood obesity are not working . Children need to play , children need to move. This epidemic is getting worse change must happen now.

Since I had the privilege to watch in 1985 the London Marathon has been my inspiration. It has never failed to thrill, inspire and bring humanity together. Tomorrow once again, the streets of London will become the greatest running street party. Good luck All.

This issue so complex. It’s nothing to do with racism, feminism or about the genetic advantage of a single person. The effects of elevated testosterone on performance can’t be ignored. I truly believe this is in the interests of protecting female athletes’ rights and competition.
Heading into

Expo stage. The excitement and build up of marathon week never gets old! For all those collecting your numbers and getting ready, remember: the hard work is all done, the race is the party bit, Good Luck and Enjoy it.
What a day for GB female 800m racing!

Once again there is no category for lactic acid nor wingspan. By making this about racism you are simply wrong and disingenuous. It’s not a card you can play to get your way. People genuinely suffer from racism everyday, you do them a huge disservice by throwing that around here
And just like that! My baby is 16!! 🎉🎂🥳 To honour the occasion a look back through the journey so far! Happy Birthday Isla, a bundle of energy, fun (and a bit of strong willed stubborn Islaness!!) from day 1. Now growing so quickly into a beautiful, …
Having the courage to speak up or act for what you believe is the right thing is never easy (and you aren’t always right) but you are never left wondering ‘what if..?’ nor worried you weren’t true to yourself.
A truly unique and special Lady and Monarch that we were privileged to call our Queen. Not sure we will ever truly understand how brilliant and wonderful she was or see her like ever again. She touched and inspired generations with her strength, empathy …
Love this photo. Shows just a handful of the real heros of the

to the guy that shouted "fat b*tch" at me as I ran past him, I'm glad I didn't stop to talk to you. I'm glad you didn't see me burst into tears. I'm glad that, after I'd dried my tears, I gave my all to my pt session & have signed up to a 10k. I'm sorry you think that's OK.
How did that happen? My baby girl is now officially a teenager! So very proud of the talented, beautiful and thoughtful young lady that is growing up way too quickly! Happy 13th Birthday Isla 🥳💕❤️🎂

No, far better to have strong morals and to stand up for what I believe in. Would hate to be so full of bitter, baseless vitriol and hide behind anonymity on social media.
Congratulations to all the runners who finished and brave running from Robbie Simpson and Kevin Seaward but big questions for LOC and medical support. That should never happen.
@mara_yamauchi
This isn’t speaking up. It’s common sense for anyone who understands female bodies and female sport. There is a fair answer here with a third category. There are other areas harder to talk about where a fair solution to all is impossible.
Equality actually means Equal Rights and Respect for every person on this earth. It does not mean we must make everything we do exactly the same as men in the name of equality. Many things we already do better. Leave them be.
