Today, Northwest High School, the Colerain Police Department & the Hamilton Co. Sheriff’s Office recognized Chris Thomas, NWHS School Resource Officer; & Jo Anne Bradley, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy; for their leadership roles & their heroic efforts in recent weeks at NWHS.

Two Northwest Local School District athletes Mitchell Graves (NW) and Carson Taulbee (Colerain) represented our District well in the East vs West All Star game last night at Midland field! In the end, West brought home the victory, 7-5!

Our students are learning and working hard; our teachers are supporting our kids, collaborating on what works and they are going beyond to educate. We are so excited to welcome our students back! We wish each of you an amazing year!
NWLSD spends $1,386 LESS per pupil than the State average to educate our students b/c of funding. Our students have received an above basic education w/ LESS money.
In 2018-19, NWLSD offered these courses: 27 Honors, 16 Advanced Placement & 25 College Credit Plus classes.
NWLSD will be closed on Wednesday, 1/30/19 due to the extreme cold temperatures.

Mr. Fisher, CHS, and many others put on an wonderful Spring Games event. It was great to see so many of our students interacting, having a great time, and challenging themselves to compete at the highest level. Easily one of the top events of the school year!
Four NWLSD teachers were lauded for receiving the 2019 Northwest Association of Educator's Distinguished Educator Award. Jayne Sayers, Houston Early Learning Center; Anne Muddiman, Taylor Elementary; Candy Sweeney, Pleasant Run Middle; and Everlyn Gibfried, Colerain High.
NWLSD: Due to the inclement weather, Northwest Local Schools will be on a TWO HOUR DELAY today. There will be no AM Preschool today, Thursday, January 24th.
This Thursday, Colerain High School will be having a "Walk of Champions" for Senior golfer, state-bound, Alex Schutte!
Some highlights of Alex's season:
- She is the first CHS female golfer to qualify for the state...
NWHS' football team, Colerain’s football team, as well as the CHS ladies soccer team volunteered at Nate’s Toy Box to provide gifts for over 175 families and 535 children. Nate's Toy Box provides toys at Christmas and other items during the year to children within the district.
Congratulations to Grace Gehner! Grace was chosen as Student of the Month by the Northwest Exchange Club for her demonstrated levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership!

Three NWLSD students were named as Coca-Cola Scholars Semifinalists for the Class of 2021!!! Congratulations Cheyenne Goldick (NWHS), Trinity Robinson (NWHS) and Hebron Gurara (CHS)!!!! 1,609 high school seniors were selected as Semifinalists from a pool of 99,403!

Today the Colerain High School Class of 1968 dedicated a plaque in memory of the veterans that graduated from the Class of 1968! Their strong legacy continues to teach our students the meaning of freedom, selflessness, sacrifice and service! Thank you!
Our administrators, principals and members of our DEI Leadership Team had the opportunity to attend an all-day DEI training at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center! Our NWLSD team was able to attend because of a grant that was secured through the YWCA!
