Great news for me 🥉 but really bad news for sportsmanship 😕 The below happened because a fellow competitor cheated. She travelled in a car for around 2.5 miles of the M2L 50 mile event last week. After an investigation, she has now been DQ’d, and rightly so. 🧵

What a race! 110 miles along the Pennine Way in 32 hours. Battered by a thunderstorm overnight, a mug of tea at Malham then a death march over the cam high road to the finish. Would I do it again? Absolutely!!

Had my decompression surgery at the brilliant @LeedsHospitals 11 days ago, and today is the day I get my staples removed. The past 11 days have been a bit rough but that was to be expected. Onwards and upwards. Forever grateful for our #NHS ❤️

Running again! A few jog/walks last week then today a non stop run along the canal. As part of my op they removed a 50p sized section of my skull and also my C1 vertebrae to free up some space 🤯 so I’ve been working hard on neck exercises to strengthen everything up.

Yesterday I tackled the famous @3PeaksRaceInov8 . 24 miles/5300ft of ascent. Planned to take it easy but humid conditions and checkpoint cut offs made for a tough day out. Will absolutely be back though. One of the best events I’ve ever done. 🏔️🏔️🏔️

Another win for recovery. The surgeon thought cycling would be a no go now I’ve a vertebrae less, but I’ve had no bother at all this week (apart from lacking bike fitness 🙃). Hire bike taken back and time to head home.
