Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a LESBIAN movie about LESBIANs, directed by Céline Sciamma, who is a LESBIAN, starring Adèle Haenel, who is a LESBIAN. It tells the story of LESBIANs who are in love, and cannot be attracted to men because they are LESBIANs
For anyone actually looking to use letterboxd to discover new movies, individual users have always been the best way. Here's some accounts I like to trawl to pad my watchlist that have introduced me to great underseen/unique cinema:
Most recently,
@PinkNews
who should know better y'all are a gay news site, but every fucking outlet eeps saying queer exclusively, despite the filmmakers being the ones who say lesbian in reference to their own film and correct y'all, we are literally exhausted

I covered how last night's César Awards were meant to systematically humiliate sexual assault survivors and anyone who's chosen to speak up in France, in this case Adèle Haenel, for

Anatomy of a Fall clip is playing and the Oscars camera avoids Swann Arlaud (who so far I've only seen shoulders up) and Milo Machado Graner. Wonder why that is
Not really sure how to talk about this, but did a big study on the tropes shown when cinema depicts sexual assault, and have finally been able to publish it after months. Obviously trigger warming, but I think this needs to be seen
