Families who can’t return home after the fire in The Bronx are staying at hotels—so @WCKitchen delivers hot meals to the lobby & families bring them to their rooms to eat together. Dinner at Alden Hotel was prepared by Elegant Affairs, which helped WCK serve hospitals last year!

My heart is overflowing. In Kherson, Ukraine @WCKitchen partner Chef Shostak served 100s of meals to shelters, hospitals—and delivered groceries to Oleshky orphanage in occupied territory. The orphanage houses children with polio, cerebral palsy & in wheelchairs, unable to leave.

Today, the @WCKitchen teams across Ukraine broke our records, producing 59,159 food kits for families—or 1,183,180 meals! Each kit contains dry & fresh items to cook for the week, and they are not lightweight (but we use bags so they can be easily carried)! 💪🇺🇦 #ChefsForUkraine

Ukraine Pets Update 🐱 from the liberated town of Kivsharivka near the front line. There’s no power, water, gas. 5,000 people still live here & they cook on makeshift kitchens like the one behind me. There are so many displaced pets, so we brought cat & dog food—and will be back!

Delivering @WCKitchen meals in the town of Pushcha-Vodytsya outside Kyiv, we met Svetlana & her 3 week-old kitten, rescued from a box near a trash can. “I picked her up, washed, and will not give her to anyone!” Svetlana lost her home in Donetsk & now lives in a sanatorium here.

I want to share with you what one family faced in Bucha. I’m standing in the house of Lyudmila & her son Bogdan, who has cerebral palsy. They barely survived; he has burns on his back. Bogdan loved playing chess on his laptop, so WCK will bring him one for his birthday next week!

Since @WCKitchen can’t be on the ground in Tonga due to Covid, we flew to Fiji, began prepping food & hygiene kits (plus solar lamps & masks) for families, and found a ship to get us 500 miles across the South Pacific to deliver to our partners there! Some shots from this week 📸
