I watched Max Clark go live with
@TJHannam10
last night on the

It was super educational. If you’re a high school or college guy, I think you really missed out..
Here were some things I took away:

Darby just said “I’m going to light another candle so when we move we can buy new ones.” I might as well pull out my wallet and start lighting my money on fire
I will have a booth at the
@OHSBCAwebmaster
coaches clinic!
Excited to connect with many new and old friends!
❗️Will be bringing only the best training tools ❗️

99% of us may never be as naturally gifted as Max. And that’s OKAY. However, there isn’t a single thing in this list that any of you cannot do or add to your routines. 👊🏻 have a great day!
@TJHannam10
I was a college walk on.. the mentality is a perishable skill, you will lose it at times and need to build it back up. I most likely woulda got cut after my freshman fall if I was at a big school. Ended up starting in the Spring.
1) Max structured his life around his baseball development.
This doesn’t mean he didn’t prioritize school, family, friends. This means that no matter what he had on the schedule, baseball things GOT DONE NO MATTER WHAT every single day…
@darbae_
Everyone who answered yes to this is getting put on a rotation. When I get a knee in the back at 4am from Darby to take the dog out, I’m shooting you “yeses” a message to come take care of it 👉🏻
Depth change can be used for multiple things but here we used it to:
🔸Challenge body control with stride.
🔴Trying to get him accustomed to close plate so it really challenged his ability to control his stride/pelvis when we moved back.
@brettcarson_40
Stud. Deep focus work.
Pilots have a checklist before they take off. Overthink mechanics in a game? Come up with a hitters checklist:
3-5 hitting cues (ones that are currently working) that put your barrel in a good spot most of the time.
For example:
@MaloneBaseball
3rd Base Coach: “Zach it went out you don’t have to ru... Zach it went ouu... Zaaaaach... you don’t have to ruuu... Please don’t slide at home”
@Zach_Mottice12
Easy to get sucked into instant gratification, especially from social media. Thinking it was easy for everyone.
Many aren’t special at the level you’re trying to get to. They have just taken average baby steps towards their goal over a long period of time 😈
🔸Pete Alonso on facing Walker Buehler in college.
“Cause he really took my lunch money”
- File away the bad days to help build your training purpose.
- You can see the emotion when he speaks about it. Think how long he trained with this in his head 🗣️
Deliver the back elbow, shoulder, side.
Concentrating on back side delivery can speed it up, catching it up to a fast front side.
Move in sync, instead of flying open
6) Professional before he’s professional.
“Before you become, you must be.” He already runs has life as a professional would. This has led to a lot of his success.
