I’m a GWU alum, former refugee, advocate, author, t1diabetic & I sell sexy robes & dresses. Insulin prices are killing Americans, I often talk about that also.
From my personal journal entries to a children's book where I share my journey with type 1 diabetes to educate and inspire kids. I’m rewriting the narrative with an attempt to create understanding of one of the most misunderstood illnesses

So sad you feel this way. We will never progress as a people with this mindset. She’s still not black, what she said was racist and not okay.

There’s a difference between uplifting someone and encouraging them vs allowing someone to be negative every single day despite the amount of positivity you pour into them. Eventually your own energy becomes depleted.
@safiyaaaay
I remember correcting a college professor on where coffee originated from. He said he’d re-research and came back to apologize the next class
@MamasatHome_
I think people say this bc if a woman’s happy & taken care of she will essentially make the “house a home” and most times it will be like a domino effect of happiness to the others in the family
@mzstokes
? You lost me. Erica Mena is not black thus the colorism rebuttal is invalid. What she said was not colorist, it was racist. I do not know you or your race but if you do not identify yourself as a black woman, sadly I don’t expect you to fully grasp what I’m saying.

And then our Endo will be like make sure you are constantly testing so you avoid highs/lows. How if my insurance only approved 3x a day? Make it make sense. Quickly
@LaBeautyologist
they literally don’t. Thank God my dad took me to the ER when I was 10 prior to being diagnosed w diabetes or I would have died from a diabetic coma. My primary care doc refused to do a blood test and said I had a stomach flu
