Honored to be one of this year's
@CityAndStateNY
40 Under 40 Rising Stars ⭐️
It means so much to be recognized for doing what I love, and I can’t thank my incredible friends, colleagues, and
@CarpentersNyc
team enough
Personal update 💫💫
After 4 incredible years with the District Council of Carpenters, I’m so thrilled to announce that I’ll be starting today as Director of Government Relations at the NY Building Congress
I think I just cried of happiness as
@GovKathyHochul
signed
@JoinJoyner
and
@jessicaramos
’s Wage Theft bill knowing how many workers it’ll help stand up to unscrupulous contractors 🎉
So proud to be a part of labor today and every day.
Beyond honored (see what I did there) to be included in this list of incredible women!!
I’m so grateful that I get to spend every day doing what I love with the best team and friends a girl could ask for ⭐️
The
@CarpentersNyc
is fortunate to have
@megzwy
fiercly advocating for labor issues important to our members & forging political relationships that build Carpenter Power! Congrats on your nomination in
@CityAndStateNY
'22 Above & Beyond!
#CarpentersRISE
I’m so happy I was born and raised in New York and don’t have to be the type of person who says “I’m basically from the City since I’ve lived here for 6 years”
So proud of my bestie and forever work wife
@megzwy
for making
@CityAndStateNY
’s 40 under 40 list! Megan’s a true force to be reckoned with — and she’s only just getting started.🌟💖🔥
I love local politics bc every once in a while, the entire workforce descends into a chaotic game of telephone and subtly gossiping on Twitter on a Friday night
Unbelievably honored (especially as a Queens gal!!) to receive this recognition from my
@bronxdems
family during Women’s History Month.
I’m so lucky to be part of the
@CarpentersNyc
team and to have the best fan club around 🧡💙
After a two year hiatus, the
@CarpentersNyc
annual apprenticeship open house was back in full force today. Thanks to all our friends in office for letting us show off our graduating apprentices!
Had an incredible time this week bringing members and our friends in office (and wine!) together at
@CarpentersNyc
HQ for a well deserved celebration 🎉
More union support for
#TeamCarlina
! 💪🏽 So grateful to
@CarpentersNyc
for this endorsement. Together, we've worked to create more jobs prioritizing safety + dignity—and we've taken on shady actors who've failed to put workers first. I'll proudly keep it up as the Rep. for NY-10.
The best interaction is when you see someone and both say “we should get drinks!” but don’t exchange numbers, give each other a knowing stare, and then just walk away
Outside 111 W 57th Street this sunny morning to call on the Gov to sign the LLC Transparency Act and put an end corrupt actors hiding behind these shady corporate entities
Well, after living in New York for over two decades and working at a union for almost two years, I finally faced the inevitable and stepped foot in Staten Island
In honor of Yom HoShoah, here’s a photo of my grandfather (my favorite human) at the Bergen-Belsen DP camp.
He survived by living in the woods with the Bielski partisans for more than 2 years, and this weekend, got to rave about how much he loves Costco.
So honored to be named to
@CityAndStateNY
’s Labor 40 Under 40!
I’m so proud of the
@carpentersnyc
team and all that we’ve accomplished during this tumultuous year. Can’t wait for an even better 2021!
And the Assembly ended the night by passing the LLC Transparency Act!!
Thanks to
@bradhoylman
and
@EmilyAssembly
, we’ve taken an incredible step to finally stop corporations from hiding behind corporate entities
Well after 6 years, I’m fleeing the Upper West Side for Brooklyn Heights, a neighborhood with just as many overbearing parents, poodle mixes and toddlers with scooters.
Another successful
@CarpentersNyc
reception in the books! Thanks to all our friends who joined us (and a few dozen lantern flies) for a much needed celebration
Breaking — water main break floods Time Square 1/2/3 station. We just learned the main that busted was installed in 1896! No service on 1/2/3 through Manhattan. Subway disruptions possible all day.
Some sentimentality this Labor Day:
It’s so easy to say you’re pro-labor without understanding what that entails. I feel so lucky to be involved in organized labor and learn from such a dedicated and inspiring group of brothers and sisters. Happy Labor Day!💪🏻
I am not going to be running for Governor of New York State, but I am going to devote every fiber of my being to fighting inequality in the state of New York.
After lots of hard work, the NYCHA Trust is signed!
The Trust is truly a revolutionary program that will help tenants and union workers across NYC, and I’m so thrilled
@CarpentersNyc
was part of the broad coalition that got this done
Early decision notifications remind me that I ate a pint of ice cream and cried for days when I got rejected from my ED choice but wound up at the best school (
@BarnardCollege
)!!
Poll for young women in politics: how many people on City & State Women’s Power 100 list have verbally abused or violated you on a repeated basis? I’m at a solid 11
It's official: After weeks of waiting & a couple of days of counting ranked choice votes, I've been elected to serve the 11th District in the NYC Council!
