Making an exception to my usual work-related only messages as so proud of my two girls who both graduated with first class honours. It’s been a tough time for students who’ve missed so much of the uni experience, never mind a graduation ceremony. So celebrating ourselves!
Such an honour to represent all the
@NIAS999
staff and volunteers at the State Funeral of Her Majesty the Queen at Westminster Abbey, along with colleagues from other UK ambulance services. A moving and poignant day.
Best wishes to EMT Sean Gordon who completed his final shift today after an amazing 46 years serving the community. Reflecting today on the past 46 years he told me he’s enjoyed every single day! Wishing you a long, happy and well deserved retirement Sean
@NIAS999
As most of us look forward to an extra hour in bed tonight as the clocks go back, many thanks to all those health service staff working an extra hour, including
@NIAS999
control room and operational crews. Thanks to you all.
An excellent day for the HEMS service and significant improvement in major trauma care - very successful first test flight to RVH helipad. Thanks Minister

@NIAS999
NIAS is experiencing an increased volume of calls including people concerned about Covid-19.
@publichealthni
provides initial advice for those concerned about symptoms they have. Please visit and help keep ambulances free for emergencies.
@healthdpt
I’ve been in contact with both our
@NIAS999
staff assaulted in this incident. They both have physical injuries but I fear the emotional injury will last longer. Two dedicated, brilliant professionals attacked while trying to provide care. We will do all we can to support them.
Having managed service delivery during CV19 and provided support to operational staff every day since 13 March the NIAS Tactical Command moved to shadow mode at 20:00 tonight. I was pleased to visit the team on their last shift today. Thanks everyone for all you’ve done
@NIAS999
A great piece. Kind and brave - accurately describes so many
@NIAS999
staff and others working across the health and social care service. Thanks for everything you do.
Tonight’s documentary showed what a valuable, life saving service HEMS is. A fantastic collaboration between doctors, paramedics, pilots and the charity AANI. Keep up the good work!
Looking forward to seeing some of our HEMS team on

Nigel Ruddell, Medical Director at NI Ambulance described the scene outside Cookstown's Greenvale Hotel as "upsetting", after three teenagers died following reports of a crush.
Pleased to visit

An uplifting afternoon meeting our latest
@NIAS999
Associate Ambulance Practitioners as they complete their training. A very positive group who are looking forward to starting operational duties. Thanks to the training team of Brian Mulligan and Martin Mullen - great work, again!
Absolutely disgraceful. Hard working, dedicated professionals who always put the needs of patients first deserve much better. These attacks also reduce scarce ambulance resources in communities as staff often unable to continue working - leading to longer waiting times.
@NIAS999
A NIAS crew came across a house fire in Moneymore this morning when heading to base. Aona and Shauna entered the premises and rescued the resident before alerting

Great to have you both back Barry. What you experienced was truly awful but I’m pleased you feel you were well supported. Hope you had a good first shift - our patients have missed out on your skills at a time when it’s been needed most. Take care.
@NIAS999
4 months ago my crewmate and I were assaulted on shift while trying to do our job. Today, after amazing support from my family, friends and

staff along with Ops Director Rosie Byrne, to thank them in person at the end of a difficult week. Including the wonderful vehicle cleaning operatives who do an amazing job to keep everyone safe. Great team effort!
It’s no time since we wished Seamus well for his retirement. We are all shocked and upset by this sad news. He has had a huge impact on hundreds of
@NIAS999
staff over the years and on the care provided to the community. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
Staff across NIAS have learned, with great sadness, of the passing of friend and colleague Seamus McAllister. Seamus, who was hugely popular and well respected, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning following a short illness. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time
My thoughts are with all the staff affected who we will do all we can to support. Their professionalism, compassion and commitment to care for those who need our service in stark contrast to those who carry out these disgraceful attacks.
@NIAS999
#stoptheabusenow

Thanks
@ParamedicBarry

@NIAS999
Having spent several hours in Control last night I saw how busy and professional all our staff were. In stark contrast to those who carry out unacceptable assaults on those who are trying to help them. Yet again I condemn such behaviour and wish the staff a speedy recovery.
Delighted to welcome Maxine to our senior team and look forward to working with her in taking forward our ambitious transformation plan when the current challenges are behind us.
