Hip surgery for NIβs oldest lady - 106 year old Mrs Madge Martin with Mr Bruce Watson, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who said βIt was a privilege to fix the hip fracture for this wonderful lady and get her back on her feet in preparation for her 107th birthday on 17th April.β

Congratulations to Staff Nurse Maureen Murtagh who is celebrating 50 years of service.
Maureen started her nurse training at Daisy Hill in 1972. Once qualified, she took up a post with Daisy Hill Theatres/Recovery and is now the longest serving member of the team.
Staff Nurse May Kelly retired on Thursday from CAH after 54 years service. May was an exemplary nurse and will be missed by her colleagues. On her last day May was treated to a tea party, visit from Trust Chair and was escorted from the ward by her son to a standing ovation.
Well done to Janet, who works as a Healthcare Assistant in Theatres in Craigavon Area Hospital. She saved a drivers life, who crashed outside her house by administering CPR until an ambulance arrived.

We can confirm that 2 members of staff were injured in an incident in Daisy Hill this am. Both were taken to the ED for assessment +treatment. Thankfully neither has sustained life threatening injuries as result of this distressing incident. 1 staff remains in ED as precaution
There was baby joy on Christmas Day at Craigavon Area Hospital with the arrival of Amelia Kwidzinska-Wawryniuk at 12.30pm, weighing 6lb 7oz.

Three Southern Trust nurses feature in the new BBC One NI documentary βNurses.β Staff Nurses Conor Martin and Victoria McTurk and Advanced Nurse Practitioner Bernice Rea, feature in the series which started last night and will run for the next three weeks on Wednesdays at 10.40pm

We are now standing down our major incident at Daisy Hill. We received 14 patients to ED for assessment. Two patients are being admitted, both in a stable condition. We would like to thank our staff and partners in NIAS and NIFRS for such professionalism as always!
