A quick Google of this woman will tell you she’s not worked on the frontline for 6 years. She doesn’t work for the NHS. She actually gave up her licence years ago and runs two businesses, one of sells “non medical” face masks that regularly feature underneath her scaremongering.
Apologies for the photo- haven’t had time to dry my hair etc this morning.
This is an emergency; the government must take action to support the NHS immediately. We’re about to have a strategy meeting; we’ll involve you asap. Let’s force them into action 🚨

In Hackney, all new venues must close by 11PM Mon-Fri and 12PM at the weekend. No new venues can operate later than this.
Over time the existing venues will need new licenses and therefore the venues that are open after 11/12 will slowly erode until there is literally none left.
London is leading the world in its 24-hour policy with other global cities looking to us for inspiration.
London's Night Czar spoke earlier about her role, championing the nighttime economy and representing 1.3m workers.
@chrisshipitv
How he can just sit there and let her mock his grandmother, his family, his country and our institutions like like this is honestly beyond me
Stop ✋.
My sexuality isn’t something for you to use to whip up fear and hysteria. Stop using me and other gay people for your own political agenda.
This is baseless, factless, gay-baiting nonsense - you should be ashamed of yourself.
Call me radical but I don’t think a housing market that forces asset poor cash rich millennials to move 90+ mins away from their workplace, isolate themselves from their friends, cut out all “luxuries (?)” like Netflix (£5.99 a month) to save up £35,000+ is a good economic model.
I’m sorry but if you physically leave your house dressed as a *Nazi* to go to a fancy dress party it is 100% on you. Beyond offensive to try and justify it by saying someone told you to play dress up like this.
So let me get this straight
- £120,000 a year for the role
- isn’t elected, so you won’t have to attend any scrutiny or face the Assembly
- paid to her through Amy Lamé Ltd. so only paying corporation tax
- allowed a second job as a BBC DJ
- and she only does 2.5 days a week
Last year when I was researching into
@SadiqKhan
’s “Night Tzar”
@amylame
and the 41% of London night clubs permanently closed in this city since she took over in 2016, I was told she was doing 3 days a week.
Now it looks like that’s gone down to 2.5 days a week. Beggars belief.
Goodge Street, 10:30PM, Friday night. Only one bar open after told it was last orders. You can see the chairs stacked on the tables in two bars here.
Streets completely empty. Another night in
@SadiqKhan
and
@amylame
’s “24 hour city”.
Two bed flats in our area (Stratford) are going for anything from £590,000 to £770,000.
All require at least a 10% deposit, if not more. Genuinely, tell me, on what planet am I supposed to have saved £77,000 in savings for a deposit when rents for a two bed here are £2,500 pcm?
I must say well done to
@BorisJohnson
for resisting damaging restrictions and lockdown.
The pressure from SAGE, independent SAGE, "experts" (bc they're a homogenous group who always agree remember) Labour, Sky News, the BBC, Sturgeon, Khan and Drakeford must be relentless.
You’re “under fire” because we are fed up of paying you £116,000 a year to do absolutely nothing. Under your tenure, 41% of clubs closed between 2016 and 2023.
Yet we cannot remove you. We are forced to watch you get yearly pay rises whilst our city’s nightlife declines.
Oh my GOD. What a total joke - you have been a terrible MP to us
@ChukaUmunna
.
Not *once* have you contacted us about changing party THREE times. You now just toss us to one side to move to a seat that you have a better chance at winning.
Shameful. Chuka first, Streatham last.
If we can forgive Stormzy for calling people like me faggots in 2017 and forgive Barack Obama for not thinking that people like me should be able to get married in 2008, we can forgive Boris for writing a satirical article in 1998 about Peter Mandelson.
This is an interesting watch 👇🏽
And for the record “bum boy” is a crass homophobic phrase - there is no context in which a political leader should think such a statement is appropriate or acceptable.
We must be united in calling out all forms of bigotry 🤝
By 7:30, I’ve already been up for 1.5 hours and I’m at the gym. In a *Capital city* it’s perfectly acceptable to have noise outside at 7:30.
If you want complete silence, do not live in Zone 1 of one of the biggest cities in the world 🤷🏻♂️
Manchester:
Clubs open late
A sense of atmosphere after 11
Last orders aren’t at 10
You can order food after 12
London:
Everything closes early
Good luck getting something to eat
Don’t make too much noise leaving - local asset millionaires will complain & shut down the venue
The London Living Wage is £13.15.
Whether you agree with raising minimum wage or not, money doesn’t just emerge from thin air. If you want a sandwich, coffee and crisps for less than £5 but want the people serving you to be paid at least £13 p/h then I have a bridge to sell you
The future for London is bleak. It’s economically active people can’t afford to live in it. They will get the train in - from their small houses - from far flung places. Those lucky to live in the city, will erode away its charm and cultural appeal - one late license at a time.
It’s insane. We had a media circus for Dominic Cummings driving to Barnard Castle for *a month*.
Nicola Sturgeon accused of censoring evidence and says she doesn’t remember the meeting in which she was first informed her mentor of 30 years was accused of sexual assault - nada.
Labour are already trying to spin
@RishiSunak
’s fuel duty cut as a “tax on the rich”. Get out of London and the university cities and see how most of the UK commutes to work…
I’ll give you a clue, it’s not on the tube.
Central London is not a 24/7 hour city. It’s just gone 1AM on a Saturday, and if you’re not in Soho, there’s nowhere to get a drink, food, dance or - even get home. The next tube is in 28 minutes.
How much is Sadiq Khan’s “Night tsar” paid because I’m in Aldywch and it’s dead.
The Netherlands will go into a complete lockdown from tomorrow with all schools and non-essential businesses closing - the lockdown will last until at least 14 January

Born when Asquith was PM & King George V was on the throne, my Nan sadly passed away peacefully this weekend
Surrounded by us (her family) and fab carers, we were with her until the very end. Please raise a glass for her this jubilee weekend - as she adored the Queen.
1914-2022
Translation: Someone privileged and lucky enough to be able to skip school with minimum consequences meets someone who nearly died for same opportunity
Thousands dead, millions out of work, obesity crisis ignored, Cameron's economic recovery undone in months, cancer treatments on hold, children out of school, domestic abuse and suicide rocketing...and all anyone seems to care about is if a man 'broke the spirit' of the lockdown.
Presume the huge, 13K drop in COVID cases will now get a full week of wall-to-wall coverage, with our TV news pundits relentlessly pressuring Sturgeon and Drakeford to remove restrictions?
Come on, you’re better than this
@DavidLammy
. This is an analogy he is using, trimmed down to a shorter clip and taken out of context. It’s a huge mischaracterisation of what he said. You’re an MP and you’re deliberately misleading people.
Ofgem: Energy bills for a typical household will rise to £3,549 a year.
The Prime Minister: Buy a new kettle to save £10 a year.
What a shower of out of touch gibberish. The
@Conservatives
need to go.
Corbyn acolytes tweeting that they want to start another party. Please do. Take your extremist, anti-Semitic, hard left sixth form politics back to the fringes. Go to your Latin American dictatorship panel debates. Go to your Stop the War coalition marches. Goodbye. Good riddance
Off the top of my head this morning:
1. Halve her salary if she’s doing 2.5 days a week. She is a BBC DJ as well, and joined through “Amy Lamé Ltd” so only pays corporation tax. She can afford it
2. Contact Labour councils (she’s Labour) like Westminster, Hackney, Wandsworth…
Okay I’ve read
@DominicRaab
’s background and I’ve got to say I’m impressed.
🌳 Son of a refugee
🌳 Single parent family after his father died
🌳 Went to a grammar school
🌳 Got into Oxford and then a masters at Cambridge
🌳 Had a decent career before politics
Odd that
@UKLabour
couldn’t stop for talking about cakes and COVID-19 fines, their press accounts and MPs tweeting about it daily.
Since
@AngelaRayner
and
@Keir_Starmer
were caught breaking lockdown with their 30 curries and beers, they’ve now nothing to say on the matter 🤷🏻♂️.
Can the BBC and Sky News stop rolling out Dominic Grieve and Anna Soubry types as “Tory grandees” to comment on the Tory party.
These people are not Conservatives & aren’t “grandees”. Spent more time trying to block brexit and stand against our party than anything else ….
There’s just so much wrong with this. Mocking the late Queen, in this way, months after her death is appalling. Mocking our national institutions. Mocking our history. Wasn’t briefed at all by her partner, who sits there and let’s her do this - visibly awkward.
Meghan says “I thought it was a joke” when she was told she would have to curtsy to Harry’s grandmother, the Queen on their first meeting.
In her interview, Meghan performs a deep bow with her arms outstretched and says “Pleasure to meet you Your Majesty” and asked “was that ok?”
I’ve spent the last 18 months or so running a Tory youth organisation and over time heard how unwelcoming UK uni are for anyone who isn’t a socialist. From blocking event space for societies to meet to seminar tutors openly mocking Tory students in class, there is a problem.
Sad news this eve to find out my grandfather has passed away. As some of you know I directed a play for
@alzheimerssoc
last year. Sadly this is the fifth victim to the disease in my family. Alan was a self-made man, with his own accountancy business and was a Tory councillor. RIP
And he’s absolutely right. Being an MP is like being in the C-Suite for a medium to large sized company. The stress, responsibility & hours are the same. Yet they get less privacy, scolded if they take time off (even for a funeral) and have weirdos take pictures of them on tubes.
What is the obsession with taking and uploading pics (without their consent) of Tories under the age of 21 on this site?
It’s so creepy and wierd. Find another way to get clout
London’s rental market is so insane that I am now banking on a pay rise just to pay the increase in my rent next year.
🙃 I will now watch my pay rise’s money get redistributed, in full, to my landlord. Please put an end to this madness and build more houses
@michaelgove
.
When you move to London you should have to sign a waiver saying "I am aware I am moving to a global city home to more than 10 million people and I will not try to preserve my local area's 'village character' by complaining about towers"
Why is no one in the media challenging the narrative that we need restrictions?
We’re possibly the most vaccinated nation in the world. The vulnerable have all been boosted.
Where is this line of questioning? Who is asking how much this will cost us? Why is there no balance?
He needs to consider his position. I’m sorry but this is very inappropriate. The Met Commissioner is not elected. He should not be appearing on left-wing podcasts and using it to poke at Suella - whatever your opinion of her.
Go into politics if you want to do this, Rowley
Emily Maitlis - What is a hate march?
Mark Rowley(Met Commissioner) - "You'd have to ask Suella Braverman that... she's picked two words out the English language & strung them together... I don't know whether she means everybody there or some of the people there.. "
If I see one more of these I will have an aneurysm.
Elise may well want
@emilyhewertson
to change her mind and not vote Tory in the future, but, at the same time, would criticise her and mock her if she did exactly that.
Confirms it’s about belligerence more than policy. 🤷🏻♂️
Is this…it?
I’m sorry this has been overhyped, oversold and whatever large sum of money the leaker has been paid to sell this is not worth the risk to our national security.
This is the lockdown experience you won’t hear of on the news.
Not all of us are in our mid-40s, have home offices and live in big houses with gardens. Some of us live in very small accommodation because you’re scared the value of your aforementioned big house to depreciate ⬇️
The housing crisis literally does prevent people from cultivating a long term relationship. People aren’t able to afford to live in London alone, or as a couple, so many live in flat shares well into their 30s. This prevents you from getting married and starting a family.
Millennial women will blame the cost of living or housing crisis on their inability to cultivate a long-term relationship.
The deep-rooted problem, more significantly, is female “influencers” giving terrible dating advice to young impressionable women to sleep around and…
Morning! I’d have had to drop out of university under a Labour government because zero-hours contracts allowed me to flex my time around exams, term time and - chiefly - pay for accommodation and living costs at university. 🌳👩🔧👨🏭👷♀️👨🍳
Can we stop sharing propaganda of a regime that:
1) Locks up muslims in concentration camps without trial
2) Forces them to attend “schools” where they’re shamed for their cultural heritage
3) Has millions in slave labour
4) where workers rights non-existent for manual workers
Drafted a tweet at least 10 times. I’m honestly speechless. Remember that all began with a *terrorist* attack in Israel. I’m genuinely worried about how Jewish people, Jewish businesses and synagogues will be treated over the coming weeks.
We have a serious problem in London
🧵i will now update every time the
@TheGreenParty
shows it’s a waste of your vote and not remotely a serious political party.
Includes: exclusively vibes-only based policy (who cares about results!), achingly tone deaf hippy middle class opinions and - obv - rampant NIMBYism.
In 2018, the Labour-run Hackney council banned any new venues from being open after 11PM on a Friday night. Existing venues were unaffected but when renewing their license had to close at 11PM unless they could prove there would be no noise after 11.
This is the result ⬇️
Jane, wake up. The average deposit is £53,000 in the UK for a first time buyer.
How do you expect a 24 year old - spending 45% of their salary after tax on their rent - to be able to save for this?
@lukerobertblack
Bet you as young people object to paying for pensioners now. We all had to do it, but you have this entitlement that makes you think you are hard done to. Get over it. 18% mortgage we paid, not well paid at all. Worked two jobs each.
So do Labour and ‘forensic’ Sir Keir no longer want the restrictions that they’ve been gagging for the last 3 weeks? I’m confused.
It’s almost as if they’re making it up as they go along 😉
A campaign van has turned up outside Dominic Cummings’ house in Islington and is playing new clips and a video of Boris thanking the public for their sacrifice
Deafening silence today from my lefty teachery friends on twitter today.
@Miss_Snuffy
dared to give working class families the same education afforded by the richest in our country: robust behaviour management & an unapologetic desire to impart on students a desire for knowledge.
The man is not Irish. His link to Ireland is tenuous at best, stretching back to a man he never met, over 4 generations before his time.
The idea this gives him some kind of cool, “Irish” take on this issue is patronising and trivialises what is a highly sensitive issue.
'I feel very strongly about the protocols'
Joe Biden is asked about the Irish protocols and said he doesn't want to see any changes to the border on the Island of Ireland.
Wait. You’re in Manchester? I thought you *urgently* needed to be in London, hence why you voted against our Conference
You’re literally a J O K E
@RichardBurgon
I find HS2 so triggering after Chesham 😂. Hours spent explaining to voters that the train line had been put entirely underground through their constituency to great cost - many still wanted it scrapped. Planning reform is needed urgently, or else every scheme will meet this fate
Since you became Mayor in 2016:
⬇️ # of London nightclubs are down 41%
⬇️ Only 220 venues left as of 2022
⬇️ 1 in 5 of London’s bouncers have left the job permanently
⬇️ One pub closing every week on average (between 2016 & 2020)
⬆️ your mate “Amy Lame Ltd.” paid £116,000 a year
Massive congrats to our
@Nightczar
Amy Lamé on being awarded the Freedom of the City of London for her work to protect, preserve and innovate the capital at night, and champion LGBTQI+ rights.
Not sure on the starting salaries here but Australian Junior Doctors definitely do earn more than UK ones.
But - unlike the UK - they also pay up to AU$630,000 in fees for their medicine degree and work in privatised healthcare system.
Two things the BMA would never support.
Guys you don’t need to say “I’m not a Tory but” before you express fear for a Tory MP that has just been stabbed multiple times
In fact you don’t need to express any political opinions of your own at all
Students at Batley Grammar School have started this petition to support their teacher. Please sign and share.
We do not have blasphemy laws here. We do not live in a theocracy. We do not live in 17th Century France. This is the United Kingdom.
I can’t even verbalise the extent to which Khan doesn’t deserve to win this

Thanks Labour councillor, I’ve reported you. Hiding your @ - not encouraging a pile on you but wanted to show this is what I have to deal with, for daring to be a gay man and not voting Labour.
BTW this isn’t how you convince people to vote for you,
@UKLabour
. You don’t own me.
Despite cancelling NYE Fireworks because for safety, and the Labour Party spending the last month demanding restrictions on our freedoms and hospitality, the Mayor is now encouraging us to “do the biggest night of the year”.
Which is it Mr Khan?
Is omicron dangerous or not?

Make of that what you will.
I’m being a bit of a spoilt brat but London nightlife is in decline. Restaurants closing outdoor business at 8:45PM. All new Hackney licenses for bars and night clubs forcing closure at 11PM. Greggs unable to sell a Cornish pasty after 11PM. 22% of night clubs closing in a year.
This isn’t “very powerful”. Stop romanticising people being intimidated by large groups of people where they live.
You might want to live in a society where you are harassed and verbally attacked in the street because of your political views, but I certainly don’t.
Sooo…when are we booking in the wall to wall press coverage of Labour MP Barry Gardiner and incessant media pressure for him to resign now we know he’s received 500k in donations from a Chinese spy, like we did with Tory Owen Paterson?
Just want to make I don’t miss it x
Except the EU isn’t a trade bloc. It’s a political and social union that is on a mission to become a federal state, with a Parliament, a future army, a currency, capital city, national anthem and - most importantly - an executive branch that issues directives to its members.
Kemi Badenoch explaining why it makes sense to be part of a trade bloc.
Like the one next door….
Predict much more tying themselves in knots as the futility of Brexit becomes more and more gob-smackingly obvious.
I’ve paid well over £100,000 on rent for the last 10 years of my life, giving away often over 50% of salary on rent *before* bills.
Uni friends with rich parents got onto the ladder years ago, with direct help on deposit or £££ to cover their rent. Some of them are landlords now
Oh look it’s my MP
@ChukaUmunna
. Instead of wasting your time PR stunts, why don’t you actually spend this time in your constituency, telling your constituents like me and
@ali_panju
that you’re deserting us for a seat you’re more likely to win?
Chuka first, Streatham last.
Repeat after me:
Every vote cast for the Brexit Party is a vote cast for Corbyn, Remain and Indyref2.
Every vote cast for the Brexit Party is a vote cast for Corbyn, Remain and Indyref2.
Every vote cast for the Brexit Party is a vote cast for Corbyn, Remain and Indyref2.

In Iran, gay people are forced to have gender reassignment surgery.
In Saudi Arabia, they are flogged.
In Uganda, they are jailed for life.
In Qatar, they are executed.
The idea that climate change is the “biggest threat” is as ridiculous as it is offensive. This is extremism ⬇️
Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds all this year have taken over London for transactions taken after midnight. Whilst the rest of the country is enjoying itself, we aren’t in London. Labour run all the councils. Our Labour Mayor and Labour Night Czar in since 2016.
This is a choice
Said goodbye to my grandad for the last time today at his funeral. He wrote books, set up a business, served in the army, was a chartered accountant and a Conservative councillor. A great man sadly robbed of his dignity by Alzheimer’s - a disease my family knows all too well. RIP
Appalling to hear a
@UKLabour
MP stand up, in Parliament, and refer to Israel as a “fascist state”.
Israel is not a fascist state. It’s a key ally to the United Kingdom and a safe haven for LGBT people in the Middle East.
The Labour Party still has a long, long, long way to go.
I love how the “ticking time bomb” for home owners is that their mortgage repayments might increase up to 1/4 of their take home pay. Talk to any renter under the age of 40. Ask them how much of their salary goes on rent - they’d jump at the chance to pay 1/4 of their salary.
POV: you are listening to the echo chamber that is the “Rest Is Politics” and patiently waiting for Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart to actually disagree about something - literally anything - and therefore living up to the entire premise upon which the podcast is sold to you.
