Tonight the
#FisheriesBill
passed its final stages. We are ready to become an independent coastal state once more. Delivering what I was elected to do.
So Sir Keir has hidden himself away in
#Grimsby
today without his office having the decency to inform me he was visiting the constituency until after he’d departed. This is the second time he has done this. Do you think he’s afraid of something?
I will be voting (by proxy) today in full support of the Prime Minister. He delivered Brexit. He secured Covid vaccines freeing us from lockdowns earlier.
PM getting on with the job of tackling illegal immigration and Levelling Up.
I met with
@BorisJohnson
in 10 Downing Street earlier to discuss all things

We live in a democracy. No countries are closed to us. If people wish to live in the EU, or anywhere else in the world and they are welcomed, they can move there, live and work there by becoming a citizen of that country
I asked the PM today about taking control of our fishing waters from January 2021.He confirmed this will be the case for the benefit of the fisheries communities in

Taking part in mass gatherings in a pandemic is not responsible or caring towards your fellow humans.
An adjournment debate was held this week on Assisted Dying initiated by Andrew Mitchell. It was the last request of my late friend Debbie Woodward that I support this change. Having listened to the case I intend to support law change.
In the House this afternoon I was able to question the Minister on the financial plight of lower league football clubs like
@officialgtfc
. It is important to have fans back as soon as it's safe to do so.

Tonight, I voted for the Rwanda Bill. Whilst it is not perfect, it is right that my colleagues and I give this further consideration. My constituents want us to stop the boats, and this Bill is a firm step in the right direction.
Today MPs will vote on the toughest ever anti-immigration law.
But that bill is just one part of our plan to tackle illegal migration.
Find out what we're doing to stop small boat crossings and control our borders here👇
With a new row over the 🇬🇧 flag, with BBC presenters being reprimanded for liking tweets about the use of it as a backdrop, here's your reminder that...

Great call with Yorkshire & Humber MPs on the coming U.K.-Australia Free Trade Agreement.
Good to address questions on agriculture, and to publicise the likely benefits of the Australia deal to key sectors in the region.
Thanks for your time!
An honour to meet with
@USAmbUK
this morning with colleagues, including
@MartinVickers
and
@neil_parish
. We discussed the importance of free trade to boost economies post-Covid.
I am very sad to hear about the loss of my friend and predecessor, Austin Mitchell. I learnt an awful lot from him. He worked incredibly hard for Great Grimsby and will be sadly missed.
My deep condolences to Linda and the family at this time.
Been a busy week in Parliament. Met with Kwasi Kwarteng, Minister of State for Business Energy Industrial Strategy
#BEIS
to talk about Town Deal
#Grimsby
Many people have contacted me about the use of St James Hotel for illegal migrants. I intervened as soon as I found out about the plans. Ministers agreed with me that it is an inappropriate location and have now withdrawn the plan. A good result for

I asked the Minister to confirm that any deal will allow the UK to decide who fishes in our waters. She confirmed that the PM understands the expectations of the fishing industry.

How can it be right that Sue Gray, a very senior civil servant is advising Ministers on Monday and by Friday is working for the Labour leader? Surely there must be a significant interval between the two events. Raised in Parliament earlier.

This is wonderful news and a further boost to making the changes we want to see in the town.
Delighted to have been appointed by

as an FE Reform Ambassador. As we know in

are absolutely vital to our country. I will relish championing excellent further education
#FEReform
I have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace following a work meeting last week with Lee Anderson MP and the Prime Minister.
As a result I will be self-isolating in line with the rules.
I currently have no symptoms and will be working from home
I took the PM a
#GTFC
shirt to remind him how important local clubs are to fans. At 4.30pm today, the Let Fans In petition will be debated in parliament. Almost 1,000 local people signed the petition to request spectators return to

grounds as soon as it's safe.

I was honoured to sign the Holocaust Memorial Book of Commitment. We must never forget the horrors inflicted on the victims of the Holocaust.

As part of the Towns Fund,
#Grimsby
has been given an advance £1m to kick-start regeneration projects. Helping share prosperity across the country and level up.
In the
#FisheriesBill
debate yesterday I spoke on behalf of the 70% of
#Grimsby
constituents who voted to Leave the EU. The most common question I get asked is "Are we going to get our fishing waters back?" I say: Yes. Absolutely!
The UK now has a trade deal with Japan that is better than the one with the EU and Japan. Importantly, tariffs on fish are lower and traditional

After the Budget I’ve had lots of meetings in and out of Westminster. Walked past our Bomber Command memorial. So proud to be from

Work on Freeman Street's YMCA is progressing at a cracking pace as

Like the rest of the country I feel a huge sense of loss on hearing the news of the passing of our beloved Queen. Most of us have never known another Monarch in our lifetime.
I send my profound condolences to the rest of the Royal Family.
God Save the King!
It is not right that hospital patients are unable to receive visits from their loved ones. I raised the case of a constituent today with the Health Secretary,
@sajidjavid
. He is asking the Chief Executive of the NHS to ensure that visits can take place.
Improved skills, more jobs, affordable homes and safer streets. What

means to

. I am championing Great Grimsby.
My speech in last week's Queen's Speech debate.
I was pleased to attend a meeting of

What the Labour Party did yesterday is try to hide from the public what they really believe. That is why a Labour government would be disastrous for the country.
I asked

Met with Emily and her guide dog Rosie yesterday as part of the Guide Dogs’ campaign to make sure people who need to have an assistant dog can get into shops or in taxis or onto public transport, which is shocking in this day-and-age that is still an issue.

An interesting day in Grimsby; although currently in the hands of labour, residents made it clear:

confirms an extra £20m for Grimsby for the Freshney Place Leisure project.
This is brilliant news for the Council's regeneration work and ensures the town receives the funding required.
I will be voting today to support the tier system. The lockdown has brought down the infection rate in NE Lincs by everyone working together. By gradually easing restrictions as we enter tier 3 it will hopefully come down further.
To anyone on UC that has heard that Parliament is voting today to reduce payments by £20 a week, this is not what's happening. Unfortunately, the Labour Party are worrying you unnecessarily.
The Government will announce soon what will happen once the temporary uplift ends.
An important debate in Westminster Hall this afternoon on the admitting of spectators to football grounds which I was pleased to attend and support. With good progress on Covid, MPs want to see fans back after 2 December.
