There are more than 50 litter bins along Cleethorpes Prom, so there’s no excuse to leave rubbish on the beach.
Put your rubbish in a bin. If a bin is full, take your rubbish home with you, or you could try to reduce your waste by bringing reusable alternatives ♻️
Tonight, we lit up Ross Castle to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week and to remember the babies lost too soon. Did you see the landmark illuminated in pink and blue?
Our bin crews are key workers doing a fantastic job in tough circumstances.
Sadly, there have been 4 incidents in the past 2 weeks where they have been subjected to unacceptable abuse. These have been reported to the police.
We won't tolerate abuse directed at our staff.
Our street cleansing and beach cleaning teams have had a busy morning this morning clearing up from last night

We stopped cutting this bank at Cleethorpes Boating Lake a couple of years ago, here are a few of the rewards - pyramidal orchid, rest harrow and lady's bed straw 🐝

Don't go to the beach, don't drive somewhere to do your exercise. Although it's tempting to spend the day somewhere at the weekend, please remember to stay at home and together we will beat this virus.
A whopping 500 tonnes of silt has already been removed from the River Freshney in the first week of dredging in Grimsby and taken off site for processing.
We're already starting to see a difference in water quality. 👏
👏 Let's hear it for Ebb and Flo. They're doing a brilliant job encouraging people to take care of the beach. We're thanking local

Grimsby and Immingham Recycling Centres raised an amazing total of £15,112.56p for charities in December, with only 12,273 cars visiting both sites! ⭐
Donations have been made to 9 charities.
A BIG thanks to all who sent in their great rainbow drawings 🌈
They're up on some of our bin lorries. Look out for them as our crews make their way around North East Lincolnshire collecting your waste & recycling

Amazing community spirit! We've had an email through from a 12 year old asking what they can do to help. Check on your neighbours, clear paths outside your home, stay safe and warm and if you build a snowman tag us in a photo!

If Public Health called tomorrow and said that you tested positive for COVID-19 and asked you to list all the places you'd been to and all the people you'd been in contact with over the last 14 days - would you be proud of yourself or embarrassed by your actions?
Stay at home.
We will not forget those who fought and died for their country. A poignant ceremony was held once again at Grimsby Cenotaph today to remember those who have lost their lives to conflict.

To celebrate we'll be sharing a different photo of Grimsby every other hour until this evening!
First up is the great Grimsby Dock Tower!
Building work was completed on 27 March 1852, meaning that the Dock Tower is 170 years old!
Some fantastic news after a tough 18 months for the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre! 👏👏👏
They've been recognised for their high quality education provision as they receive the Sandford Award for another 5 years 😊
❄️The gritters will be out treating the roads from 6:30pm this evening. We'll then follow up with a further run at 4am tomorrow morning ❄️
It takes our gritters 3 hours to grit the full route, this means that on our early morning run the route is readily salted for rush hour
👑 We're going all out for the Jubilee at Grimsby and Immingham Tips. Open daily from 8am to 6pm. Bring us stuff you don't need, we can recycle it.

Happy Great Grimsby Day! Thank you to everyone celebrating by showing some love for your town and helping keep the area clean. Litter picking is an easy way to look after your environment and improve your wellbeing. Thank you and have a fab day in Great Grimsby 🚮
Happy birthday to the Dock Tower! 🎉
Building work was completed on 27 March 1852, making the Dock Tower 171 years old today!
The tower is 300ft tall and was built using approximately one million bricks made from the clay dug out of the dock basin during construction.
If you choose to come to Cleethorpes this weekend, please follow Government guidelines, maintain social distancing and keep everyone in our resort safe. Please be aware that many shops, premises and attractions are currently closed. Please enjoy the resort responsibly.
When our street cleansing team arrive at Cleethorpes beach first thing in the morning, this is the mess they found.😔
It would end up in the sea if they didn’t clear it.
There are 328 litter bins in Cleethorpes. Please put your rubbish in a bin or take it home with you. 🚮

We rake Cleethorpes beach everyday. Raking helps stop litter from ending up in the sea. A length of wire got caught in the machinery on Saturday, possibly from a tent. Luckily, it was spotted before it could do any serious damage. Please don't leave rubbish on the beach🚮

In support of Baby Loss Awareness Week, we will be lighting up Ross Castle in pink and blue on the evening of Monday 15 October.
It is to mark the ‘Wave of Light’, which will see people around the world light a candle at 7pm to remember all the babies lost too soon.

Thank you for all the kind messages for the street cleansing team. Here's some of the rubbish they collected from Cleethorpes over the weekend, about 25 tonnes in total. We reckon that's the same as 6 Red Arrow Hawk jets. Thanks for the support, it means a lot to the team 🚮
