104 years ago today, Holocaust survivor, the late Primo Levi, was born in Turin, Italy. Levi was a trained chemist and became a partisan after the Nazi invasion of Italy. In 1943, Levi was arrested and on 21st February 1944 was sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau.

74 years ago Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and death camp was liberated by the Soviet Red Army. Approximately 1.1 million people were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau between 1940 and 1945; around 1 million of them were Jewish.
On the 15th April 1945, 75 years ago today, British troops from the 11th Armoured Division entered the Nazi concentration camp Bergen-Belsen and liberated over 50,000 prisoners.
Today we remember all those who were imprisoned as well as those who liberated them.

Today is the 90th birthday of Lord Alf Dubs. Lord Dubs was one of the hundreds of children who came to Britain on the Kindertransport to escape Nazi persecution, and served 8 years as a Member of Parliament. Have a wonderful day Alf!
Yesterday marked 84 years since the first Kindertransport train arrived at Harwich train station in England carrying 200 Jewish children. They arrived from a Jewish orphanage in Berlin that had been destroyed just a few weeks earlier during Kristallnacht.
The remarkable Lily Ebert BEM turns 99 today! Lily survived Auschwitz, and today, together with her great-grandson Dov Forman, is reaching the next generation through TikTok and their book 'Lily's Promise'.

pogrom took place. Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues were attacked by German troops throughout the night of the 9-10 November, and 30,000 Jewish males were rounded up and taken to concentration camps.
