The portal through which students access software such as MATLAB here at CSUSM is called “CougarApps” so I just searched “cougar apps” in google in front of my whole class, and the results were not what I was expecting 😖

Yesterday I received a birthday card from my parents. My dad is a #quadriplegic , and doesn’t really have use of his hands, but he still managed to write a note in my card. I SOBBED. This is the first time I’ve seen him write since his accident. (It says “badass mathematician”)

I'm noticing a pattern. Students come to me asking if I can move the date of my exam, because another class they're taking (often taught by a white, male, older professor) also has an exam that day. I often ask if they've talked to this other professor about the issue...(1/3))
