The DPRK hacking group started to move their Axie Infinity stolen funds today. Part of it made to Binance, spread across over 86 accounts. $5.8M has been recovered. We done this many times for other projects in the past too. Stay #SAFU .

A market maker from a smaller futures exchange tried to attack @binance futures platform. NO ONE was liquidated, as we use the index price (not futures prices) for liquidations (our innovation). Only the attacker lost a bunch of money, and that was that.

Shorting $COIN here because ETFs are a cheaper way to hold BTC makes no sense: 1. Almost everyone is using Coinbase Custody. 2. We are not at the zero-sum stage, the ETFs will push adoption further growing the pie for everyone. 3. ETFs are investment, exchanges are casinos.

Ceteris paribus, after the halving $MARA will need a price of Bitcoin of ~$57K to get to the break even point for mining. With price <$34K they are better off turning off the miners. If we add operating expenses (~20M per Q), the price of Bitcoin would need to be ~$70K.

After the last halving in 2016, the amount of coins lost or untouched for +5 year seems to be on par with the inflation rate ~650k. No causality between the two, just an interesting coincidence.

A very interesting phenomenon in Mexico is that you can buy paper dollars well below the price of the FX markets, even after the huge spread that the money exchanges take. But the Bank of Mexico is worried about Bitcoin being used for illicit purposes.

@FatManTerra Hardcoding a minimum price is common practice among crypto exchanges. Removing the hardcoded minimum price when the price falls enough, is also the right thing to do. There is no foul play here. If anything, Binance messed up by not removing the floor price sooner.

So unless Bitcoin goes up, I can't see any bullish case for $MARA. But even if BTC goes up, it looks difficult for $MARA to beat outright holding $BTC. Unless they are able to start using free/ish electricity. The presentation is here:

What happened to the US Monetary Base after the 2008 financial crisis just seems wrong. Time it took to 5x the MB: 1983 - 2008 => 25 years (From 170 to 850) 2008 - 2014 => 6 years (From 850 to 4150) (Thread)

If the largest holders of a PoS blockchain turn evil, how do you fork away? You can't. At least not without confiscating the coins from those large holders, and thus eroding the integrity of the chain. In PoW, the largest holders have no power. PoW is antifragile, PoS isn't.
