I think the worst part of the “shikamaru and choji and co were naruto’s real friends” is that these characters didn’t even exist in the manga until the chunin exam arc 😭 they’re literally not even featured in the class in chapter 3 Iruka and team 7 are naruto’s first bonds

bothers the hell out of me that kabuto kakashi, orochimaru, sakura, tsunade & lee aren’t even in the plot like these are konoha’s elite and they’re nowhere to be seen like they don’t even exist. unidimensional writing ends up affecting the world building
