For the first time in a long, long time, I find myself without a job, as I was laid off today by the @TigardTimes . Hopefully, I'll be back one day, but, if not, thanks to the coaches, administrators, parents, readers and the kids for making this a very fun and rewarding job.

Being unemployed kinda sucks, and I really hope I get my sports job back one day. Meanwhile, I'm trying to turn things into a positive. I've gotten into a really good workout/eating routine, and, for the first time in a long time, I'm on the good side of 200 pounds.

I keep reading about Oregon high school football and the effects of the pandemic in regard to a possible season. But there are many other kids who play other sports, which are just as important. There needs to be a way for ALL of these sports to be played, and played safely.

Absolutely devastating. A great man with a great family. He was a coach who seemed to genuinely care about the kids -- on and off the court. And he always got the best out of the kids he coached. A loss for the entire Tigard community. Shawn will be missed. RIP.
