UK government has just confirmed it has formally notified the Court of Session it will contest the Scottish Government's section 35 legal action on the Gender Recognition Reform Bill. A spokesperson said they would "robustly defend" the decision to use the s35.

NEW: Court of Session has ruled in the @ForWomenScot case against Scot Govt on new statutory guidance re Gender Representation on Public Boards Act. Result is FWS lost and guidance is lawful. That means transwomen can be included in the drive to have 50/50 m/f public boards.
