Speaking of internships ... PAID INTERNSHIPS still have a long way to go when it comes to recruitment. Low-income students are screwed with unpaid internships but also with paid ones where they only scout "top-tier" schools. There are brilliant minds at state schools, too.

My proudest moment of 2020 was going on a date with a guy in January who told me I’d be prettier if I lost weight ... ... then me making him cry at the end of our date. 💅🏻😘 And I got a burger out of it, too. I still think about that from time to time and smile.

Remember: Not everyone is comfortable sharing their trauma at work so those “therapy” and training sessions won’t do those journalists any good. Most of the time it’s those are also JOC who are afraid of retribution later on if they share too many personal details at work.

The eclipse was such a cool experience. You could feel it in the air — literally. It got a few degrees cooler during totality. It was totally worth the drive from L.A. 🌖✨ (Luckily, my parents still live in Dallas, so I didn’t have to worry about lodging.)

My parents finally have power after several hours of not having it. I called them a few mins ago. I was worried & my mom says, "Somos de rancho. no te preocupes. sabemos sobrevivir." My dad has a hand crank radio & they were listening to tunes before the power came on.
