IMO you should submit a paper because you *want* the work to be accessible to others- you learnt something you wish to share. Recent trend that authors *need* the publication for grad school or job is harmful. Works you are not proud of can negatively impact career and motivation

[IMO] sending emails to PCs that use inappropriate terms to refer to your fellow colleagues (ACs/Reviewers) like "idiots", "incompetent", "with malicious intents" or "petty" is unacceptable. One might disagree with a decision but respect has to be the minimum in communications.

What is wrong with video retrieval benchmarks? Our #CVPR2021 work now on ArXiv w M Wray @doughty_hazel Prior works are based on instance-based assumption. We propose to rank videos by their semantic similarity, with multiple videos being equally relevant.

New @CVPR this year - in addition to ACs, there's a layer of senior ACs who are assisting the PCs in their role. As a senior AC myself #CVPR2023 , our first task was to form AC triplets. Each Senior AC is managing ~15 ACs. Authors might not be familiar with the change this year.
