missed this one, and it's arguably more wrong than the one everyone is circulating. there were disabled people on that picket line and strikes are the opposite of begging for scraps
really funny to see the "get a real job" responses from office or unemployed dudes meanwhile 90% of freight truck driver were honking in support of the Starbucks strike
The Chipotle I work at is the first to ever unionizeβand that would not have been possible without the early guidance, resources, and support of Greater Lansing DSA
thank you to Chipotle corporate for ending your chicken ban just hours after Chipotle union members talked to Bloomberg!! must have just been a big misunderstanding
#LiveLaughLearn
Scoop: Chipotle is telling its US employees not to put chicken in their own meals, so the company can "conserve our fan-favorite chicken" for customers. Workers say managers have threatened to discipline employees for having chicken in their employee meals

@priceycord
there are literally no facts. the starbucks unions led walkouts to enforce the mask mandates in their stores, union workers did wear masks on the picket line, transmission rates outside are vastly different than inside so crossing a picket line would leave people more susceptible
Organizing a union at Chipotle was made possible by talking to other Chipotle workers and trading our grievances, insights, and strategy. If you're a Chipotle crew member interested in unionizing your store, DM me!
Alex Press's articles about Chipotle in Jacobin were incredibly helpful when were just starting to organize to contextualize how much of the awful shit we were experiencing at our workplace was integral to Chipotle's entire business model
@hasanthehun
@JonahFurman
true story- before there was any union my coworker saw me reading a book from a leftist publisher and when I got back from break he immediately asked me "do you know hasan?" harper and I started unionizing together shortly after that
@bloomfilters
ppl are even folding to accusations of "hinduphobia" by hindu nationalists similar to how how they fold to accusations of anti-semitism by zionists
@nacidodeproveta
not saying that, but it's important to note that red actually means something in the indian political context because the communist party (CPIM) is prominent
@DixonBrandywine
@SandyPugGames
it's an action movie where the main character is empowered to do violence by a Hindu god (Hanuman, who has already been appropriated by the Hindu nationalist party) so these edits are exacerbating existing issues
@jacobinmag
This is wrong. There's a HUGE difference between saying that Hampton was really good at inspiring class solidarity and saying that was why he was murdered. Hampton was murdered because the Chicago BP chapter was incredibly organized and a threat to the capitalist state.
@okcomputrrr
someone should ask him how much involvement he had in this decision! it would take a lot to erase my crush on him but I don't want to assume he had no power to stop this

when workers go on strike they are attempting to stop a company's production and profit in order to improve working conditions. scabs are people who help the company continue to profit anyway, either by replacing the workers or by continuing to buy from the company
