Held the door open for a lady carrying equipment into a Uni Lab today (assume she was a lecturer). She looked at me and said, ‘it’s okay’ - I didn’t catch her drift at first until she said let go. She let the door close and then opened it herself, while struggling! Confused!!

@WilliamClouston I’m an engineering inspector (lifts, cranes etc..). I’ve noticed that when I wear coveralls and speak to receptionists I can literally see them looking down on me. We have a problem I this country about looking down in tradespeople. In Germany trades are given respect.

@kelvmackenzie Blair sent all the future tradies to Uni. My trades mates are all dojnv 3 day weeks now and living the dream. Quite a few do a 3 month break over winter in the sun. Mechanics, plumbers, chippies, electricians, builders….that’s the way ahead for young people now.

Just been working in a secondary school. The amount of obese kids was shocking. These poor kids have been failed by their parents and it will reduce their life chances. It’s time society addressed this and stopped saying all body shapes are beautiful/healthy.
