Tell me you’re tired without telling me you’re tired:
Grabbed what I thought was my lunch from the fridge at home. Arrived at work to find it wasn’t: it was an entire block of cheese. 🫠
PPA day (at home) today, but my HT messaged to say happy half term and that she was glad I worked in her school… and THAT is why I love my new school - feeling appreciated is so important💜
How do you know you’ve found the right school?
When you’re eating cake in your headteacher’s office to celebrate the school dog’s first birthday. That’s when. 🤛🙌🏼
About this time last year, after being shouted at as a staff by our new HT (amongst other things), I decided it was time to move schools. One year on, I am SO glad I jumped ship and got out 🫶🏼 life’s too short to be treated like crap x 🌟 x
Little things LIKE your headteacher coming in to see the kids, saying how lovely it is in your room and that you’re doing a good job, are exactly what a Monday needs 🫶🏼
#grateful
When I first started this Twitter, I vowed it was for edu purposes only and not personal. However, it’s now become used for both and, even though I don’t know half the people here, it’s such a nice community personally and professionally 🥰
Yesterday, my mum, who broke up last week, got to come into my school (and be my TA) and it was the loveliest thing ever 🩷
Thanks for coming,

😂 Mine spoke to an inspector about reading & was asked what he could infer about her. “You’re loaded and married.I know this cos you’re dressed well & smell incredible so your perfume must have cost loads.”This was in the class; I was trying to carry on as normal & not crack up!
“Are there any questions you would like to ask now?”
Child: when we go to Chessington on Tuesday, are you gonna go on the big rides or not???????

Did the “changes that happen to us when we grow up” lesson with Year 3 today… of all the body parts we COULD discuss, I didn’t envisage that we’d have a lengthy conversation about the fact that boys also really do have eyelashes and they’re not just for girls 😂.
This tweet is solely dedicated to the kid in my class who has not only edited her work, but has also correctly labelled “good cohesion”, “ I used an adverbial”, “Year 6 words”, “this is the passive” and more throughout her book.
Moderator in the making! 🤣
My lovely neighbour, who works for Nespresso, has gifted me a brand new coffee machine for free because he felt key workers deserved a treat, and he’s fed up of seeing so much teacher bashing. Made my day!
My mum went into school today, to do her classroom, and sliced her finger open, consequently ending up at the hospital. Taking that as my sign to continue doing nothing as it’s safer x

I did 5 christmases working in M&S before I became a teacher. Today, I stood outside M&S whilst my mum shopped. I adored my time in retail... but I don’t miss Christmas and being threatened by old people with turkeys (true story, it happened.) Retail workers, good luck!
“If I were in primary school, I’d want you as my Y6 teacher. I hope your class know how lucky they are.”
Best observation feedback ever and a much needed boost from our LA officer today🥰.
Loveliest birthday made even more special after being called to the office at the end of the day to find 6 of last year’s Y6 had come in with this as they’d remembered Nov 22 was my birthday!!!!!…. Best job in the world and all ♥️
Me: can control a class of children easily.
Also Me: loses a battle with my dog over whether or not he needs to walk his squirrel. Therefore, we’ve just been for a walk and breakfast with squirrel 🤦🏻♀️🫡
This time tomorrow I’ll be in my new flat and this time next week will be at my new school - can’t wait for a total fresh start but also aaaaalllll the nerves 🤢🫠🥲
Landlord: Hi Belle. When I went to replace your floorboards, I thought the lot could do with doing... so your flat has completely new flooring but I’ve also painted all through, & will have decorated the bathroom. Hope you don’t mind.
MIND? It’s lovely already but omg RESULT!😍
Me to my class: Let’s all decide on one positive thing that lockdown has brought us.
Y6 child: we get to see the teachers in their natural environments...
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Pro 1,000,000 of having your mum as a teacher: she’s also fully prepared to spontaneously go on holiday to pretend that this isn’t the last week off.

My gorg little class came in with flowers and sweets they’d bought me, with their own money, on the way to school.
“They had white roses too Miss but apparently they symbolise death…”
Best job ever & all ❤️
1st best part of the day: last minute email from HT saying that my well-being afternoon was tomorrow🥰
2nd best part of the day: given subject lead time in the morning and told I may as well work from home in the morning!🥰
Get. IN!
The sixth form head-teacher who told me I’d “never make it to uni” and “never make a teacher” has just put a plea on a local group asking for previous students to share their experiences of her school... not sure it’s really me she wants to hear off!🤣
Walking to swimming:
My y6 girls, giggling: Miss, you’d tell us so we’re going to tell you.
Me: what?
Them: your leggings are on backwards. Your adidas logo is on your bum.
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Met 5 of my old Y6 (now y9👀) in Sainsbury’s. Main topic of conversation? My reading corner.
“Miss, please keep it the same as when we were in there. You know what you say - if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”
Decision made, then😂.

cos I miss my dogs, living away. Didn’t really think I’d get much out of it... Then I met Betsy who lives down the road from me and needs a walk whenever I’m free! Definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done😂.
Wonder if my planning being “in my head” will be an alright answer this week?.. I know exactly what I’m doing but I have 0 motivation to write it down!😂
