The default path is criminally underrated If you work hard enough it is less Office Space and more living in Williamsburg surrounded by friends within walking distance with a hybrid 40 hr a week tech job that gives you plenty of free time to enjoy the riches it provides you

I sense that the desire for perfection/(qualia?) that drives people to meditate or do inner work surgery on themselves also leads them to leave relationships that are good but not *perfect* But also the insanely high standards "awakened" people talk about for relationships

This can be framed as a good thing too because most people probably put up too much with bad relationships. But ultimately the idea of abandoning a good relationship because it doesn't feel "resonant in the moment" terrifies me and seems like such a flighty way to approach life

It's hard to view lifting weights as a healthy form of exercise right now, since in NYC the only way I can do it is to descend into a fluorescent lit basement with mirrors on every wall, uncomfortably crowded with people completely disconnected from eachother with headphones

You can just declare *this* moment anew. And it's a skill to learn how to do that! Stuckness/ thrashing loops on itself, until dropped It's ~equal parts physiological & meaning making. The next day is natural , but you can also imbue that renewal into any moment with ritual

I think learning meditation as a practice of "concentration" set me back hundreds of hours Instructions like "once you can keep your attention on the breath for 10 breaths you are ready for the next practice/stage" just create the wrong mindset in the meditator
