District 10 is in the heart of flash flood alley — a vulnerability that climate change will only worsen. In the last 10 years, Austin has recorded over 500 flash floods and three 100-year floods. It’s critical that city council acts to protect Austinites from severe flooding.

Congregation Beth Israel is in the heart of D10; the community is still recovering. Antisemitism and attacks on any faith are not welcomed in Austin. This sentence is a step towards accountability, but interfaith solidarity requires more local leadership and action.

In 1954, Indian students at @UTAustin formed the Indian Students Association, fostering cultural exchange and community. As a two-time UT Alum, I valued this umbrella organization which aimed to connect all South Asian organizations on campus.
