An extraordinary tale of 2 women who found themselves on opposite sides of the same battle for an island utopia. It’s a story that will end in kidnap, corruption and murder.

To clarify, RLB is sacked from the cabinet for sharing an article which tangentially highlights links between US & Israeli systemic racism while Rachel Reeves, who emphatically praised Nazi-sympathising former MP Nancy Astor remains in post. Got it.
Ignoring the fact that communists were among the first to be sent to concentration camps and accusing the left of perpetrating the Holocaust. Absolutely sickening Holocaust revisionism from Norman Tebbit &
@Telegraph
.
I marched yesterday with a Jewish bloc and couldn’t have felt more welcome. I encourage fellow Jews to come and experience it for themselves. If nothing else, it’s an object lesson in how the media weaponises antisemitism to fear-monger and gaslight.
The right to protest must be safeguarded. But it’s clear that over the last two weekends London’s Jewish community has felt directly intimidated by the Gaza demonstrations. That’s it now. The point’s been made. There should be no further demos allowed for the foreseeable future.
Nothing sums up the arrogance and vacuousness of the UK commentariat better than a non-Jewish pundit implying a Jewish-Israeli genocide expert and author of several books on the Holocaust is motivated by antisemitism to belittle Jewish safety concerns.
Hi
@Channel4News
instead of purporting to care about Jews, you might want to ask Trump - you know, the guy who accused American Jews of 'disloyalty' and said they wouldn't vote for him because he doesn't want their money - if he needs to do more to denounce HIS OWN antisemitism?
Father of the girl taken hostage on motorcycle: “Also Gaza has casualties…mothers who cry…let’s use this emotion, we are two nations from one father, let’s make peace, a real peace” 🙏
Tired of this divisive nonsense. There were plenty of Jews at this demo - many wearing kippot. In the video you can see Jewish banners proudly on display.
It should not be difficult to understand or recognise that this is an intimidating atmosphere for Jewish people on their way home from work.
Many have had to turn back.
Chants ‘From the river to the sea’ are calling for the destruction of Israel, the only Jewish state.
Enough.
Starmer shows he's serious about antisemitism by appointing to his shadow cabinet an MP who called a Nazi sympathiser her 'hero' just a few weeks ago and then refused to apologise. Best thing about it is that
@JewishLabour
and
@BoardofDeputies
will say nothing
The
@BoardofDeputies
having the gall to tell Dawn Butler that "No other minority would be treated that way" is a depressing reminder of their zero-sum approach to oppression which actively negates solidarity between marginalised groups
.
@BoDPres
: "It beggars belief that after four and half years of failure on antisemitism, Richard Burgon and Dawn Butler still think that they know better than the Jewish community how to fight this vile prejudice". Full statement:
Centrist pundits acting like
@PeoplesMomentum
and
@OwenJones84
have violated the spirit of democratic elections by having the audacity to galvanise large numbers of people to canvass for Labour is something to behold 😂😂😂
Of course the mob likes people who take its side. Try standing in the middle of that protest with a sign saying, "I think Jews have a right to defend themselves," or even just "Let the hostages go!" and see how you fare.
If you care about hurt to minority communities, I'd politely suggest not treating their views as monolithic - thereby denying their basic humanity - so that you can use them to fight your factional wars
"This is about the Jewish community, the hurt that has been caused to them."
Lisa Nandy, shadow foreign secretary, says she would "knock on doors" to support any Labour candidate that was standing against Jeremy Corbyn.

A thread.
Confronting anti-Semitism, including on the left, has always been a passion of mine. Many of my closest friends are grandchildren of Holocaust survivors: that pressed upon me the importance of doing so.
Antisemitsm at yesterday's

whatever they might have been doing before is entirely irrelevant. This boy was shot in the back while he treated, he clearly posed no threat to anyone. It’s murder in broad daylight
Hey
@JewishChron
no one's buying your craven & transparent attempts to save face by rushing out an op-ed disagreeing with Melanie Phillips. If you actually cared about racism you'd stop publishing her
The highest-ranking survivor of the ghetto uprising, Marek Edelman, was a Bundist, anti-Zionist, and an ardent supporter of the Palestinian cause.
This tweet is obscene, but Israeli officials have long tried to erase his heroism.
This year Holocaust Remembrance Day marks 80 years of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. As much as the uprising became a universal symbol of righteous uprising against evil, almost all the fighters were Zionists, inspired by the Zionist spirit to take Jewish fate into their own hands.
...But Corbynite antisemitism was never explicit. It always constructed antisemitic discourse out of elements which were not themselves explicitly antisemitic....
Ofc there’s bound to be a handful of idiots in a crowd of 300k ppl, but the media representation is a total distortion. The overwhelmingly dominant message on that march was the call for a ceasefire.
Laura Murray’s exceptional kindness, warmth and decency represents the absolute best of us. Nothing but love and solidarity with her today and everyday.
The same hundred thousand anti-Israel obsessives march through London and email their MPs every time there is conflict in the Middle East. Good that the major political parties are ignoring them.

@hzomlot
My jaw was on the floor when she parroted Israeli police calling Al Aqsa a ‘military stronghold’ but I guess that’s how you do impartiality on the BBC
Strange how these guys had nothing to say when Starmer violated the EHRC's recommendations by interfering to approve Corbyn's suspension. It seems the EHRC findings are only relevant when they can be used to attack the left
We’ve written to
@PeoplesMomentum
’s co-chairs to ask why Momentum instructed delegates to vote against the EHRC Rule Changes.
We want to know why they wanted to put the Labour Party in a position where it would be breaking its legal and moral duties.
My grandfather passed away from covid last night. He was a genuine mensch in every sense of the word and is survived by, a frankly impressive, 100 grand & great grand-kids (ka"h).
Hi
@Telegraph
. Firstly my grandma was liberated by the Russians. Secondly, using the Holocaust to undermine George Floyd's death & BLM ("where they would be unable to breathe until they died") is unimaginably callous
Thinking of my grandma today, an Auschwitz survivor who lost 7 siblings as well as her parents. Pictured here celebrating my cousin’s bar mitzvah.

A remarkable interview with a 19 year old survivor of the massacre in Kibbutz Be'iri:
“How can I wake up in the morning knowing that 4.5km away in Gaza there are people for whom [this] is not over. Anyone who talks of revenge should be ashamed"

@MrBenSellers

There's nothing antisemitic about acknowledging the existence of an extremely active pro-Israel lobby. It's deeply disappointing that you'd choose to side with them in censuring and demonising left-wing Jews like Alexei Sayle
Labour may now be voting against the police bill but has Starmer been at all vocal about it? Barely seen a statement from him...nothing on his social media. Anything less than emphatic indignation about the bill's effects is a dereliction of duty
You’d think
@JewishLabour
might have something to say about news that hundreds of antisemitism cases were deliberately botched given they couldn’t stop talking about AS disciplinary cases a few months ago 🤔
#LabourLeaks
The Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism is a welcome contribution & clearly superior to the comically vague IHRA, which is why it’s puzzling that among its supporters are individuals who insisted Labour would lose all credibility on AS if it didn't adopt the full IHRA in 2018🤔
Board of Deputies once again blaming Palestinians for their own deaths at the hands of Israel, this time a mother and child. It’s plain racist and nauseating
.
@BoDPres
: We utterly condemn the terrorism of Hamas & Islamic Jihad, who have fired 450 rockets in to Israel from Gaza so far. Our hearts go out to the family of Moshe Agadi & also to a Gazan mother & baby, senselessly killed by the terrorists’ onslaught. This must stop!
Not here to denigrate the sacred terrain of pothole politics or 'local issues' . Just saying it might be nice to encompass them within a broader, moderately ambitious vision which matches the scale of the social, economic & ecological crises 'local' people currently face
Why are
@JewishLabour
seeking to sensor CLPs from discussing a report which features racism against BAME MPs? I’m all for upholding GDPR but point 2 goes some way beyond that. Absolutely disgraceful demand & shows a real lack of solidarity with people of colour.
Me (very briefly) explaining why, as a British left-wing Jew, I feel like I finally have a political home under Jeremy Corbyn's Labour on
@VictoriaLIVE
Expressing concern for the plight of civilians in Gaza doesn’t make you “pro-terrorism”. Saying Israel has the right to use military force against Hamas doesn’t mean you “support genocide”. Calm and moderation needed. If you use language like that, you’re part of the problem.

Ben & Jerry’s decision represents shameful surrender to antisemitism, to BDS and to all that is wrong with the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish discourse.
We will not be silent.
Don't let Wiley's antisemitism or those exploiting it undermine our collective struggle. If your solidarity is conditional or transactional, it's no solidarity at all.
Please read/sign this letter that a few of us Jewish LSE students/alumni have written in response to the invitation of Tzipi Hotovely to the campus and all that has happened since
America's most prominent liberal zionist org is campaigning to oppose the IHRA for precisely the same reasons Corbyn initially resisted it. The joke isn't funny anymore.
We’re launching a mobilization effort to push Biden not to accept the IHRA definition of antisemitism with its examples. This definition obscures the lines between antisemitism and criticism of Israel, and hurts Jews on college campuses.

and let’s not forget how these far right trolls disguised as ‘allies’ are afforded legitimacy & prominence on the issue of antisemitism by mainstream communal orgs
During Wiley's long racist rant, he singled out a Black Jewish woman for abuse.
Now self-appointed "Allies of the Jewish community" are now targeting her for harassment.

On Sunday we went canvassing in Harrow East with Indians Against Tory Division
Watch as
@ilyas_nagdee
and Sam explain why solidarity between minorities is so crucial in this election.
Our film “No Other Land” on occupied Masafer Yatta’s brutal expulsion won best documentary in Berlinale. Israel’s channel 11 aired this 30 second segment from my speech, insanely called it “anti semitic” - and I’ve been receiving death threats since. I stand behind every word.
@Mendelpol
@RLong_Bailey
Seems pretty plausible that was a tactic taught in these counter-terrrorism seminars since we know its practiced both by American police and the IDF. Hardly a conspiracy theory is it?
@AdamPorte
Sure the target is Labour but the subject is Jews - whose fears are needlessly exploited & inflamed by a joke with little basis in reality. If anything Holocaust denial is more prevalent among the Tories who’ve allied themselves with Orban’s Holocaust revisionist neo-nazis
To all those on the Hard Left of the Labour Party who questioned that the Russian state was behind this attack, please take note. Your conspiracy theory-driven worldview is completely disconnected from reality.
Canvassing with

Since Na’amod launched two years ago, our movement has grown dramatically, enabling us to mobilise hundreds of British Jews to stand against Occupation.
As a Jewish leftist, this election often felt suffocatingly sad. But organising with
@JewsAgainstBoJo
has also brought me immense personal and collective joy.
We march on.
Slandering 200 Jewish signatories who happen to be world-leading experts in Holocaust history, Jewish studies & the Middle East as 'anti-Jewish racists'... it doesn't strike me as very 'Jewish Pride', Ben.
The so called ‘Jerusalem Declaration’ is nothing but a masturbatory fantasy concocted by anti-Jewish racists and those who enable them.
Needless to say,
