Not a good look as pro-Palestinian protestors target a cancer hospital on New York’s Upper East Side. The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center also houses a paediatric day hospital…
“Make sure they hear you, they’re in the windows”.
THREAD: How the framing of Israel/Zionism as the centre of all the world's ills and problems draws on centuries of antisemitic thought that sought to frame Jews as being the root source of all corruption and evil in the world and as an obstacle to societal peace and harmony.🧵
Always grateful to cartoonists like Bob Moran who provide new educational material that can be used to clearly demonstrate how people apply age-old antisemitic tropes within a supposed anti-Israel context. Below is a brilliant example. Thanks Bob…
It gets much, much worse for Jones as footage emerges from his now deleted interview with Miko Peled, including rants from Peled about “Zionists”, “Jewish philanthropists” and seeming praise for October 7th. All unchallenged by Jones. Must watch clips in the following tweets 👇🏼👇🏼
Owen Jones has today given a huge platform to a man who has rubbed shoulders with hardened antisemites, fascists and Holocaust deniers, Miko Peled. In the video Jones describes interviewing Peled as 'a great honour'. 👇
This is Anna Laurini. A local street ‘artist’ and regular promoter of antisemitism and conspiracy theories. CST have previously documented Laurini’s horrible views and online posts in our report ‘Covid, Conspiracies & Jew-Hate’ …
I'm walking home in London, get off at Chalk Farm, and see a woman tearing down posters.
"I'm doing this to clean the street. Clean the shit."
Then, when I put my phone down, she turned to me and said: "Ah, look at your nose. I see your nose."
I cried the rest of the way home.
"The Warsaw Ghetto, Piers...do you know how the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum describes the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising on its Arabic page? It calls it the Warsaw Ghetto *Intifada*?... So, no, I don't believe intifada in and of itself is a terroristic phrase."

One narrative I consistently find interesting is the one that states that because Jews suffered the Holocaust, they surely must have learnt how to be better human beings. As opposed to a more honest assessment of the inter-generational trauma those events have led to.
Depressing that in his latest video Owen Jones let his guest, Zach Foster, go unchallenged when describing 'mass rapes' on October 7th as a 'lie'. This is despite there being widespread and accepted evidence showing how Hamas weaponised sexual violence on that day.
According to Owen Jones, Israeli society is in the grip of 'genocidal mania', except those Israelis 'who stand in the great Jewish traditions of peace and justice'. What does this suggest about the majority of Israeli Jews? They're less Jewish? Bad Jews? Are they Jewish at all?
George Galloway is so far-left that he’s now parroting extreme right-wing narratives. Watch as he rails against so-called ‘God’s chosen people’ and ‘exceptionalism’.
It’s literally the same type of online content that I see from neo-Nazis.
The organisation I work for has for decades been working to counter antisemitism and related terrorist threats. This attempt to ringfence where the ‘real major threat comes from’ is either deeply misinformed, or made in really bad faith.
THREAD: Mohammed Hijab has this week been engaging with disgraced ‘manosphere influencer’, Sneako, an associate and supporter of US neo-Nazi, Nick Fuentes. They appeared together on a series of livestreams. Let’s have a look and see what they said.

Public support for the Houthis on the streets of London - totally shameful. Important reminder, the Houthis are a deeply antisemitic and extremist movement that has been responsible for completely purging Yemen of its long-established Jewish community.
HAPPENING NOW OUTSIDE PARLIAMENT
"Yemen Yemen make us proud how many ships have you turned around"
Because the seizure of ships sailing cargo by the Iran backed Houthis of Yemen is a good thing according to the mob.
Since October 7th, we’ve seen an eruption in anti-Israel activity around the world. We’ve all seen/heard the arguments, slogans, and placards. One that comes up time and time again is the narrative that somehow this issue alone is core to solving all the worlds ills.
Finally, it can lead Jews to conclude that there is a deep well of obsession that centralises this issue above everything else. And that obsession is nothing more than the same antisemitism that has been deployed for centuries and is now deeply ingrained into our societies. END
The artist of this portrait was Austro-Hungarian, Philip de László, son of a Jewish tailor. De László converted to Christianity and eventually moved to England in 1907. During WW1, De László was interned by the state, viewed with suspicion as a consequence of his heritage.
BREAKING: Palestine Action spray and slash a historic painting of Lord Balfour in Trinity College, University of Cambridge.
Written in 1917, Balfour’s declaration began the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by promising the land away — which the British never had the right to do.
In his latest video, Owen Jones has given a platform to someone with a history of unsavoury remarks about Jews, including having previously tweeted that 'every schoolboy on the planet knows how much power Jewish organizations wield in the west'.
He's a Jewish Arab Israeli - and he thinks Zionism is terrible for Jewish people, too.
A really honour to speak to the brilliant

Tonight's 'protest' against

was organised by the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (SPSC). On October 7th, the day of Hamas' brutal massacre, the SPSC released a statement welcoming the attacks. Read for yourself below 👇
After listing a bunch of prominent British Jews and Jewish organisations, Aaron Bastani alleges that the Labour Party is now ‘run by a clique, where the circles of influence are so small that it’s inevitable that families, husbands, wives, sisters, sons control its apparatus’…
It’s through this lens which I find Jonathan Glazer’s comments tonight so disingenuous and frankly, stupid. If you don’t like the Israeli government using the Holocaust to justify their actions, then don’t use the Holocaust to shame and humiliate Jews and the Jewish state either.
It’s very hard to escape the conclusion that those who make this argument are essentially drawing on centuries of antisemitic ideas that declared that Jews, Judaism and Jewish society were responsible for all that was wrong with society at the time.
People losing their minds over the Grammys having rightly paid tribute to all those who were murdered at the Nova music festival on October 7th. It was a touching tribute that centred on a message about peace and unity, naturally therefore it pissed off all the right people.
The thought of George Galloway as an MP is depressing. This evening he’s been ranting about the “hold” Israel has on western countries, stating that “the entire political class in Britain [is] in thrall to” Israel and that “British politics” has become “effectively outsourced”.
Mehdi, you should urgently reconsider your decision to share this. Miller is a nasty piece of work who has a history of repeatedly making pernicious anti-Jewish remarks. Just last week he was going on about ‘Jewish landlords’. You should delete your tweet.
“A sociology professor sacked by the University of Bristol after being accused of antisemitic comments has won a “landmark” decision that he was discriminated against because of his anti-Zionist beliefs.”
It’s a curious argument, especially when considering the litany of issues we face. From famine to climate change, poverty, regional instability, and everything in between, there’s no shortage of problems that our world faces. So why is this issue at the centre of it all?
THREAD: Social media grifters, Mohammed Hijab, Ali Dawah and Zeeshan Ali (Smile 2 Jannah) have uploaded a YouTube video on the Moscow concert attack.
It’s 12 minutes of pure antisemitic conspiracy. Between them, they have nearly 3.5 million YouTube subscribers.

If we look at ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ for example, its core antisemitism is structured around the idea that it is both Jewish power and malevolence that leads us to infer that we cannot address the ills of the world, without dealing with (whatever that means), Jews.
@OwenJones84
Owen, I literally work for the organisation tasked with understanding, combatting and protecting against antisemitic threats in the UK. That is not how we, or anyone working in the field of threat assessment/analysis talks about it.
@OwenJones84
I really think you should reflect on some of the hurt you have caused to so many Jewish people. It is not for you to dictate the fears of an entire minority community. Even if that was not your intention, that is very much how it came across.
I was so angry at the abuse, obsession and conspiracies precisely for this reason. Social media and the internet isn’t some sort of carte blanche for behaving so disgustingly. Thinking of The Princess and her family.
All his words have done is mainstream the abuse of the memory of the Holocaust as a political football. More people will wake up tomorrow thinking it’s perfectly fine to obnoxiously point out to Jews that they should know better because of Auschwitz and the gas chambers.
Today, these ideas are transplanted onto the Jewish state, and the movement for Jewish emancipation, Zionism. Whether this argument is made consciously is unclear, likely often not, but it's clear how closely they resemble antisemitic ideas that have been around for centuries.
We know how the Nazis went about dealing with this so-called ‘Jewish Question’. That despite everything they were trying to achieve, they would be unable to do so without ridding the world of its Jewish population.
Whether it’s the global economy, the media or geopolitics, antisemitism leads us to believe that any attempt to deal with these issues will ultimately be futile if we don’t address the root cause of these problems – Jews.
And it’s what can lead protestors on anti-Israel marches to deploy placards such as these which centralise Israel and Zionism as somehow core to a range of other non-related issues and/or as key to fixing the world.
And just like how antisemitism has always been used by states to distract and divert attention from their own failings, that tradition continues. It’s what leads Iran’s leaders to continually talk about Zionism and to make claims such as this…
According to Mohammed Hijab, “it’s an elephant in the room brother, and I’m going to mention it…I think we need to face the fact it’s not just Zionism, it’s Judaism as well. And when I say Judaism, I’m not talking about, yeah, I’m talking about Jewish theology.”
In this first clip, Peled goes on a rant about “Zionists” and how they “invest heavily in local politicians, the press and the education system”. Peled lets the mask slip when making a point about “Jewish philanthropists”. No challenge from Jones who simply nods along.
By invoking Jewish tradition, Owen is making himself arbiter of who the good Jews are, and who the bad Jews are. Ironically Jones has previously spoken out against this, stating in 2018 'the non-Jews attacking Jewdas as being the wrong Jews, the bad Jews, are anti-semites'...
Finally in this clip Peled states that “October the 7th created an enormous possibility and we’ve seen that Palestinians are capable of great sacrifice and great courage”. One can only assume he’s referring to the brutal Hamas massacre. Absolutely no challenge from Jones.
It’s also the familiarity of this antisemitism, that can lead hostile states such as Russia to cynically deploy antisemitism as a tool for destabilisation and fomenting division.
Jones should be deeply ashamed and should apologise for his role in facilitating Peled’s rants which many will perceive as deeply antisemitic. To close, here is how Jones ended his talk with Peled, by showering him with praise and twice labelling it an “honour”.
I often think that the obsession to pressure Jews into continually defining antisemitism is driven by those who want to know how far they can go in being as offensive and hostile to Jewish people as possible without straying into an academically defined form of antisemitism.
@OwenJones84
And that is totally legitimate to highlight as it pertains to your identity. With respect however, you cannot dictate how Jews should feel about the threats they face. Street-based violence and antisemitic terrorism has a devastating impact on Jewish communities.
The thought of George Galloway as an MP is depressing. This evening he’s been ranting about the “hold” Israel has on western countries, stating that “the entire political class in Britain [is] in thrall to” Israel and that “British politics” has become “effectively outsourced”.
In this second clip, Jones allows Peled to go on this horrible rant about Zionists and the Holocaust. Peled accuses Zionists of cynically using the Holocaust to “legitimise” their “crimes”. It’s a clear distortion of history. No challenge from Jones who simply nods along.
Hi Owen, thanks for finally responding. You’ve seemingly been ignoring a range of other problematic interviews you’ve hosted on your YouTube channel, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you didn’t see my tweets. I’ve listed these below for your easy access. ⬇️
1) Israel is in the grip of genocidal mania. Exhibit number 4758484 attached.
Opinion polls show:
- 60% of Jewish Israelis oppose humanitarian aid to Gaza.
- 43.4% think "too little force" is being used by the IDF in Gaza (50.8% say it's appropriate')
This is genocidal mania.
@OwenJones84
Owen, they are both significant threats! In your initial tweet you used the phrase ‘the real major threat’. You should not have used the word ‘real’. What were you trying to imply? That other threats aren’t ‘real’?! That’s how many Jewish people would have interpreted it.
As highlighted by
@MarcGoldberg111
, here is Peled sitting next to the AfD's Udo Voigt, where they both attended the 'New Horizons' conference in Tehran. The conference regularly attracts fascists and horrible antisemites.
Hardly surprising to see Miko Peled is mates with Waters.
Here he is sitting next to German fascist Udo Voigt who called Hitler “a great man” and claimed 340k Jews killed in the Shoah.
And a pic of him in London lecturing holocaust denier Nick Kollerstrom’s Keep Talking group
Yesterday, after some months of asking Owen Jones to distance himself from some deeply problematic views and speakers hosted on his YouTube channel, he accused me of ‘try[ing] to strip antisemitism of its meaning’ and trying to ‘witch hunt’ his ‘Jewish interviewees’.
@OwenJones84
It’s perfectly possible that they BOTH present clear and present dangers in very different ways. Why does it have to be one or the other?! I’ve simply tried to communicate the impact that violent terrorism has on Jewish communities.
@OwenJones84
That's an incredibly unfair mischaracterisation of what I've said. It seems somewhat callous to discount in any way shape or form the impact that violent terrorism has on Jewish communities. We're talking here about Jews being killed. You're position is deeply reductionistic.
Hi
@BBCNews
, on your live reporting feed today you cited Shehab Younis, 'a photographer in Gaza'. A cursory look at his Instagram feed would have shown a video he posted in August memorialising and glorifying two former Hamas leaders, Raed al-Attar and Muhammad Abu Shamala.
For months now Ukrainian
@Arsenal
player, Oleksandr Zinchenko, has been on the receiving end of online abuse due to a message of support he posted for Israel in the wake of October 7. After todays lost against Aston Villa, it has increased. No place for antisemitism at our club.
There is so much more that could be written about Peled and his history of horrible remarks and unsavoury associations. Jones has some questions to answer. He should start by deleting the video. There should be no space for antisemitism.
Peled is also known for having stated at a Labour Party conference fringe event in 2017 that 'people should be allowed to question whether the Holocaust happened'. It sparked a massive row. You can read more on that here -
Antisemitism, misogyny and hateful extremism - all in a days work for these so-called ‘influencers’, who sadly do have a significant audience of young, impressionistic, men and boys. These clips make clear who they really are and what they believe. END
So why is Sneako, who hangs out with neo-Nazis in the US, spending time with Mohammed Hijab? Well, it turns out that some of their views on Jewish people, Judaism and race actually align. Who would have thought?!
Peled has also talked at Holocaust denier, Nick Kollerstrom's 'Keep Talking Group'. In his talk Peled referred to the “Zionist lobby” as having “tentacles everywhere”. In attendance at the talk were fascists, holocaust deniers and known antisemites.
:: NEW:: Holocaust Denial Alert:
Disgraced academic Nick Kollerstrom's Keep Talking group hosted Miko Peled at St Anne's Church in Soho on Thursday. [Thread]
It’s amazing sometimes to reflect on the days following October 7. The unbridled joy, the justification and the silence from so many. Jewish communities in a collective state of shock and devastation. All of it seared into our collective memory - we sure as hell won’t forget it.
Update - the video has been quietly removed from Owen’s YouTube channel. Awkwardly however it does remain available via a link tweeted by Peled himself. It shows the video hasn’t been deleted from YouTube, simply ‘unlisted’.
Owen Jones has today given a huge platform to a man who has rubbed shoulders with hardened antisemites, fascists and Holocaust deniers, Miko Peled. In the video Jones describes interviewing Peled as 'a great honour'. 👇
When discussing an Islamic Hadith about the end of times regarding a battle between Muslims and Jews. Hijab makes clear that in his view the Hadith may well have been referring to “Zionists” as the “majority of Zionists are Jewish.”
Antisemitism and fear of 'Jewish subversion' had terrible repercussions on many British Jews and those of Jewish heritage, De László included. Now 110 years on, his work has been destroyed for very different reasons. Yet something about it feels eerily familiar.
Whilst I appreciate your response to my latest tweets, I cannot in good faith respond until you take responsibility for the above. In some cases, I think you should delete the videos, provide clarification or distance yourself from some of the views you let go unchallenged.
Hijab continues by stating his belief that “it shows you that the, the prophecies of the hadith are too in line now with the geopolitical relevancies of the day”. Hijab believes that “the day of judgement is coming.”
On another livestream the conversation focused on Holocaust survivor, Victor Frankl, and his book ‘Man’s Search for Meaning’. According to Hijab, “he was a good Jew”. Sneako responds, “they exist? sorry, don’t clip that”.
Hijab doubles down on comments he has previously made regarding life, death and martyrdom, stating “if this is going to be a war to the death, are you willing to die for this thing…we are willing to die, we say yes we are willing.”
All of these were attacks carried out by jihadists. This doesn’t cover everything, and doesn’t even begin to consider the longer list of attempted plots by jihadist individuals and groups with the sole aim of murdering Jews, including here in the UK.
1. You gave a platform to Miko Peled, a man who has rubbed shoulders with fascists, antisemites and conspiracy theorists. You didn’t challenge him when he labelled ‘Jewish philanthropists’ as somehow part of the problem vis-à-vis ‘Zionist’ influence in America.
Perhaps Owen should read some CST reports to educate himself on the range of threats that Jewish communities face, including from BOTH the extreme right and jihadists. Better yet, visit a Synagogue to see how extensive the security measures are. I’m just not sure he’d be welcome.
4. You platformed Noura Erakat, someone who believes that Jews just recreated Nazi, white supremacist ideology in the shape of Israel. She has also promoted debunked October 7th conspiracies, claiming that Israel killed large swathes of its own citizens that day.
Noura has been arguing for years that Zionism is an internalisation of European antisemitism. In other words, Jews just recreated Nazi, white supremacist ideology in the shape of Israel. She often refers to ‘Jewish supremacy’. It’s really horrible stuff.
As the conversation develops, Sneako states his apparent dislike for books that discuss the Holocaust - “when I read books and then I hear Holocaust, Holocaust it was so hard and like ugh, shut-up.”
3. You allowed Zach Foster to go completely unchallenged when he stated that the rapes of Israeli women on October 7th were a lie! Why didn’t you pick him up on that? I assume you don’t agree?
Depressing that in his latest video Owen Jones let his guest, Zach Foster, go unchallenged when describing 'mass rapes' on October 7th as a 'lie'. This is despite there being widespread and accepted evidence showing how Hamas weaponised sexual violence on that day.
This video was taken today by one of my neighbours in Camden. As my neighbour says, people are more than free to post remembrances of the Palestinian victims. But no, they just want to rip up photos of kidnapped Israelis. Funny, that
Unbelievable, Dilly Hussain of the Islamist blog, 5Pillars, has recorded a podcast with former BNP leader Nick Griffin. A man who has spent his life fomenting antisemitism, racism and anti-Muslim hatred. Perhaps they'll bond over their similar views on Israel...
At no point is there an effort by Jones or Foster to make clear that antisemitism is ultimately the responsibility of those who perpetrate it. In fact, Foster makes clear his belief that Jews should renounce their allegiance to Israel.
