KEEPER A - RYOSUKE KOJIMA Kojima has been my first choice keeper since we gained promotion to J1, signing for £240k. I fell into the classic trap when signing Kojima; I glanced over the scout report, saw a 3.5* current ability player who was willing to sign and made the deal.

With 10 games now under his belt, I can safely say that Bradley is indeed the better keeper, and his performances have been a major improvement. A small sample size, but 6 clean sheets in 10 games is nothing to sniff at, and nor is a 7.10 average rating.

As a few of you pointed out, Kojima dreads big matches and is also very injury prone. These are things I inexplicably missed while scouting, and would have massively put me off the signing if I had noticed at the time. He's been okay since signing, but certainly not amazing.

CONCLUSION Since ignoring star ratings and trusting my gut by bringing Bradley into the fold he's exceeded expectations, allowed me to move towards a preferred style of play, and given me the chance to sell on an under-performing asset. TL;DR - ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT!

THE COMPARISON The comparison confirms what I, and the vast majority of you, feel - that Bradley is the better keeper. For the most part Bradley matches or exceeds Kojima in every area already, and also offers more as a Sweeper Keeper, a role I'm keen to bring into our tactic.

I've felt ever since signing him that Bradley has been undervalued by our coaches. He's rated as a 2* CA player, but has many attributes higher than our senior goalkeeping unit. The biggest concern I have is his low reflexes, which could also affect coaches opinions of him.

A look at the pizza charts confirms this. Bradley is having a far more impressive season in general, most importantly overturning Kojima's Expected Goals Prevented deficit. Making less saves doesn't concern me as this is a per 90 metric and likely just means he's facing less.

A look at average position without the ball and where the two are receiving their passes also shows the gulf in what they offer. Bradley will happily receive a good distance from his box, but also stays on the edge of his box when we don't have the ball, ready to sweep if needed.

As we adjust to teams showing us more respect, especially at home, I'd like to transition to a more controlled tactic where we play on our terms higher up the pitch. Bradley isn't a perfect fit, but his elite rushing out particularly makes me feel we can play with a higher line.
