, I don't think Congressman Young's schedule will allow him to be on Meet the Press with you tomorrow, but I'll circle back if that changes. Thanks for reaching out!
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who heckled George Santos mid Santos-gaggle moments ago, in a tiff with MTG outside the Capitol steps.
AOC comes up at the end: “She ain’t worth it bro”
BREAKING: The King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate.
His Majesty's condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure.
The King’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation.
Lol if you think there are too many rich people in Congress now, wait until only the ultra-wealthy can afford to live and work in two separate cities on $17,400 a year
Exhausting watching people move to DC and turn their personality into the food here is bad, the bike lanes are bad, and the neighborhoods are bad. Productive criticism should/must be made, but folks -- nobody forced you to move here for your $45k a year "dream job" at Heritage.🤡
“Congress is VEEP, not house of cards” is the “this 97-year-old diner still makes Coke the old fashioned way” meme of DC transplants with polisci degrees.
Notice of a Mayor-Council Breakfast Meeting
Tuesday, October 31 at 9AM
As if Tuesday won’t already be scary enough, the Mayor and Council will be meeting for an increasingly rare Mayor/Council breakfast. On the agenda: a WMATA Financial Update
@wmata
I moved to DC at 26 and let my mom do my first metro run to Capitol Hill with me, because — even when it’s annoying — sometimes parents just want that second wind feeling of when their kids were little again. Let them have it and cherish it, that’s not infantilization.
I wait for weeks and weeks for just one piece of RNC *~research~* where I can say “ehh okay that’s a fair criticism,” but time and time again it’s just instances of Sperry-clad comms people using the account to reveal they’ve never been loved or invited to things.

It has been 0͟ days since Overheard Washington, D.C. claimed someone said something that definitely wasn't ever said.
👀 For the first time since 2013, Sen. Graham hasn't introduced a national abortion ban
“I haven’t even thought about it,” he told
@NBCNews
in December, saying he’d introduce it after foreign aid is dealt with.

It should be noted you can’t just ring up the *president* whenever you want, even as a House Representative. Gotta set that up through the WH congressional liaison or something. But anyway, he gets his little campaign sound bite I guess.
Dean Phillips told reporters in his campaign bus today that he tried to call the President Joe Biden yesterday, but the incumbent did not take the call.
@albamonica
and
@carolelee
previously reported that Biden didn’t take Phillips’ call earlier this year.
State Senate president and speaker of the state House sign onto a letter w/ 37 other state GOP legislators supporting Matt Rosendale, not Tim Sheehy, for the U.S. Senate race against Tester.
This is opposite of GOP U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, who backs Sheehy.

The reason I still feel deep disappointment in this political party is because for many years, I was a member. I don’t even care enough to follow the DNC on Twitter, so I have to ask, are they tweeting stuff on their page as embarrassing as this? Because…this is so dumb.
GOOD NEWS! Metro's 🔴Red Line construction is ending early. Normal service resumes Saturday 7.a.m., one day ahead of schedule & $250K under budget. Don't forget NYE rail service extended to 2 a.m. Happy early New Year! 🎉 More info▶️

Remember when this guy looked like he *might* win his U.S. House primary, but it actually turned out it was just all Twitter hype from his pod bros and he got 14%? That’s when I really started considering I might have been in an echo chamber lol
There’s a lot of lying in Congress but the lies I overhear staff tour guides spew in the Cannon Tunnel are egregious
Cannon wasn’t built in the 1880s!!
@AdamKinzinger
If there's one thing I learned working on the Hill, when members are in DC, calls trend toward "why is the Congressman never back home with us" and when members are in their district, calls trend toward "why isn't the Congressman in DC doing his job" rinse, repeat.
Not for nothing but.....Congressman Young has not only passed two of his bills through the House from beyond the grave....but he's also getting Meet the Press booking requests as well. A successful post-life career by any measure.

Just left the office for the final time; no key, no badge, no work phone. Forever grateful to the people of Alaska and to Congressman Young for the experience of a lifetime. I'm truly a lucky man.
Wow this is doing numbers. Don’t forget to buy my book “I Worked in the Trump Administration, and Said Nothing so One Day You’d Buy This Book and Read About It.”
After much prayer and reflection, I’ve decided the time has come to serve the people of Eastern Washington in new ways. I will not be running for re-election to the People’s House.
My full statement:
Always a weird day for me. having your congressman boss pass away while traveling w/you isn’t something you prep for & it took a long time to stop replaying everything in my head. one thing I’ll never forget is how much in that moment I just wanted my mom. Moms are so important.
