I'm certainly not one to whitewash George W. Bush's legacy, but I stumbled across this video clip from about a decade ago. It's pretty striking as a comparison to Trump. In 2011, Bush warned about -- and denounced -- everything that Trump stands for.

We now have a president with no regard for the rule of law or its restraints on his arbitrary power to issue fiats, backed by an entire party & commentariat that views "Whatabout Trump" as an all-purpose get-out-of-law-free card.

The governor is a woman. She was just re-elected. She opposes abortion. The sponsor of the bill, state Rep. Terri Collins, is also a woman. And as @davidharsanyi notes, a majority of Alabama women are pro-life - a higher % than men
