We couldn't be more thrilled to release our latest cover with one of our favorite runners,
@des_linden
!
The two-time Olympian had big plans for 2020. Didn't we all? But in typical Des Linden-style, she's taking the uncertain times in stride.
She did it! At the New York City Marathon on Sunday, Shalane Flanagan finished six 26.2-mile races in 42 days.
"I retired, I had knee surgery, I was transitioning into a coaching role; I felt like I struggled. That’s why I latched on so hard to this idea."
“I think there’s a maturity among us and a recognition that someone else’s success doesn’t take away from your own accomplishments," says Des Linden who is a role model to many current and aspiring marathoners.

"I just wanted to really show her no matter what, that you do things with character, integrity, and you don’t give up."
Allyson Felix is going to her fifth Olympic Games.

Molly Huddle won't race the Boston Marathon on Monday, but she has a good reason: She's pregnant.
"I’m definitely checking this off my life to-do list, so that’s a happy reason to take a little break.”
After 15 years in the sport,
@ShalaneFlanagan
announces her retirement.
“My relationship with running has evolved over the last couple of years and I’m in a really happy place to use my love for the sport in new ways.”
Des Linden begins her first ultramarathon at 8:15 a.m. PDT and she's going for the 50K world record, too.
"I’m not really looking to collect accolades or define a legacy or anything like that. For me it’s motivating and this new distance is intriguing."
“My grandmother’s my heart, my grandmother is my superwoman, so to be able to just have her here at the biggest meet of my life and be able to cross the finish line and right up those steps knowing I’m an Olympian now, it just felt amazing.”
.
@karagoucher
remembers her grandfather, who recently lost his battle with coronavirus, as supportive, compassionate, and the person who introduced her to running. Our hearts are with her and her family.
“Maybe I can still crack a good one. It might not be the best marathon of my career, but if I feel like I can put together one more good one, I’ll chase it."
Des Linden has had a few days to reflect on her record-setting 50K—she opens up about having fun, being vulnerable, and how we can all learn to power through uncomfortable moments.

It's here!!! We’re proud to unveil our 2022 Power Women issue. Like the rest of us, these 15 Power Women identify as more than runners, but it’s through running that they’ve inspired us. Meet them all here:
Our June cover runner

6-time Olympic gold medalist

Sara Hall became the second-fastest American woman ever at 26.2 miles on Sunday at the Marathon Project. She still wants more.
“You go for it out there and that was definitely all I had today.”
