A co-worker once said i was “too fat, too black and too lispy” to be a television reporter. 7 years later, i’ve got 2 emmy nods, a few AP awards and i’m still reporting. Follow you dreams kids, don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do.
I’m so excited to join the team at Connecticut Public Broadcasting. We’re building a new investigative unit called The Accountability Project which I’ll lead as Investigative Editor for CPTV &
@wnpr

Tony Rankins from Cincinnati just got a shout out from President Trump at the State of the Union.

Alex Jones responds to owing around $1B in damages to Sandy Hook families by shamelessly asking for donations to fund InfoWars:
"They want to ... scare us away from questioning Uvalde ... or Parkland ... We're not scared, and we're not going away, and we're not going to stop."
JUST IN: Cincinnati Police have arrested the man behind a now viral video that shows a large crowd partying outside despite

Conflicted. Last night I had bottles thrown at me. Today I was called a house negro. 🤷🏽♂️ Really just trying to show people what’s happening in the world.
This was the scene inside Kenwood Towne Centre tonight. Shoppers describe chaos after two large fights broke out. At least two stores closed early tonight.

So sad to hear about the death of Conn. State Rep. Quentin Williams. We spoke with him earlier this year about evictions and housing on
@wherewelive
. He was passionate and clearly cared about his community.
TV news crews are increasingly threatened with violence on the job. Now there's a proposed bill that would make it a federal crime to “intentionally intimidate” or cause bodily harm to a journalist while reporting the news.
Police grabbing media. I was grabbed by my bandana from behind and pulled into a group of officers as they approached me. An enquirer reporter just hauled off.
President Biden plans to issue an executive order that will encourage federal regulators to crack down on noncompete clauses. The effort is meant to improve workers’ ability to get better jobs and boost competition across the economy.

This is the sad reality for many entry-level TV News jobs. I made $20k at my first job. Thankfully, I had family to lean on but many don’t. This industry needs to do better.
Dozens of furloughed federal employees have shown up to New Prospect Baptist Church in Cincinnati to get a free meal, a bag of groceries & a gift card from Freestone Food Bank. Furloughed workers tell me they’re grateful for the community’s help.

Simpler times. We will never take these reunions for granted again. Going to miss seeing all my

For those just tuning in, this is called a praise break. Shout if you must. Just don't roll through the aisles. An usher can carry you out if you need it.

I’ll never forget Officer Moira Smith. She was from my neighborhood, Queens Village. I was an altar server at her funeral and her nephew was a classmate at my high school. May her memory live on, may we always remember.

This Bronx apartment building had over 100 open violations before it suddenly collapsed on Monday.
Tonight we questioned the landlord about the lack of repair work.
