One of the 1998 Jonesboro Arkansas school rampage shooters has died in a car accident. Andrew Golden had been living in Cape Girardeau County, MO under the name Drew Grant. He was 11 at the time of the shooting which killed five and injured 10.
On Friday, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law a bill that ensures the contributions of LGBTQ people are taught in public schools. Rep. Anna Moeller introduced House Bill 246 to amend the school code to add a more inclusive history curriculum.
The Graves County Emergency Management Office says if you live in Mayfield and can walk safely, you should head to Fire Station House 1 at 211 E Broadway street. There will be buses to help transport people.

An Illinois judge ruled that Gov. J.B. Pritzker's COVID-19 executive orders are void, saying that the governor does not have the authority to extend disaster proclamations beyond 30 days.
BREAKING: “It's no longer voluntary. It’s mandatory, and I’m willing to take whatever criticism comes with that," Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said, announcing a new executive order requiring Kentuckians to wear masks in public places.
Trigger laws in Tennessee, Idaho, and Texas took effect today, banning abortions with few exceptions, though litigation continues around certain aspects of some of the states' bans.
When Gov. Beshear contacted Kyle Henderson with the Plumbers & Steamfitters in Paducah to see if they had any N-95 masks they could spare, he contacted area businesses, who together came up with about 700 masks to donate to area hospitals.

Graves County 18-year-old Jacob Woods was about to start his journey to become a meteorologist, heading off to Mississippi State. Then, he found out that he'd been living all his life with a marble-sized tumor inside his brain.

UPDATE: Graves County Emergency Management says Mayfield High School is opening up a shelter for people affected by tonight's storm. Mayfield residents who can safely walk there can also head to Fire Station 1 if they live closer to that location.
A spokesman for Mayfield Consumer Products says 101 workers are accounted for, including 8 dead and 93 alive. Gov. Beshear says the state hasn't been able to verify that, but "I am praying that maybe original estimates of those we've lost were wrong."
