Our supporter, Jon Walkden, found this Tawny Owl sitting in the middle of the road. He assumed it had been hit by a car and feared the worst but after 15 minutes it opened its eyes, looked startled, and flew off strongly! An amazing experience and we're happy the owl was fine!

Have you ever seen a bee like this? The Ashy Mining Bee is a solitary bee with distinctive black and white markings. They dig small tunnels in the earth to make their nests, and can be seen between March & June. This one was spotted by our colleague Nick Feledziak.

Day 2 of our 50 nature reserves in 50 days! Ashlawn Cutting is a disused railway that goes right into town. It's fantastic for people and wildlife, and managed in partnership with Rugby Borough Council. Rare plants, butterflies and amphibians all call this place home.

Great news! We're working in partnership with Rugby Borough Council (RBC) to help make your local green spaces great places for people and wildlife. And this year RBC is reducing grass cutting on 13 more sites to create urban meadows and boost wildlife

Our reserves team were out at Ryton woods this week finishing off some coppicing work before bird nesting starts. It looks like the sunshine and warmer weather have gone to their heads - if you can't work it out they're spelling out 'WKWT'!!
