A really nice thing about meeting book people is the passion that they show for their favourites. It makes me pick up books that I’ve overlooked or not heard of. It’s far more effective on me than advertising or promotion and I think that’s a very wholesome thing.

Hi

! Here’s a risky question:
What book disappointed you? What’s the one you’d not recommend or reread?
Unpopular opinion but mine’s pictured. It had a lot of hype and I love the idea. I just think it was poorly executed. How about you?

, long books or short books?
Personally I love spending an extended amount of time in a world with interesting characters, but I like a short read to break things up in between.
No apologies for post workout messy hair.

I saw Ocean At The End of The Lane last night and just WOW the things they did with such a small stage, the soundtrack, the actors. It was just incredible.

your story come to life was more than I could have ever have expected 💕
I recently saw an author interview in which they said Science will outlive literature.
I’m not so sure. Lit affects people. Emotionally. Then people affect people. It inspires.
Literature is passed on through experience. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Okay so after watching several videos on Cormac McCarthy’s The Passenger, I realise that I didn’t take on even half the themes and messages from this book. I feel rather dumb but will give it a reread.
Have you ever had to read a book twice to “get it?”

how depressing is it when you buy a new hardback and put it on your tbr only to see a year later, the same book released in paperback and it's STILL on your tbr
The urge to run away from everything in my life, move to a small cottage and write all day and night, dedicating myself to the craft, touching no one in my lifetime but leaving behind a vast body of work
I think a common theme among people I know this year has been being very tired all the time. I’m not sure if this will be better next year but I hope it will.
The overwhelming urge to move to a small American town surrounded by pine forests where all the residents put out loads of Halloween decorations in October
Whenever I am asked for a book recommendation for someone who doesn’t generally read fiction, my go to is Klara And The Sun.
My grandma is an almost exclusively non fiction reader and she enjoyed this so much she sent me a handwritten review in the post.
What’s your go to rec?
Will I finally read Gravity’s Rainbow this year? I’ve read extracts that terrify and haunt me.
Thomas Pynchon is a fascinating human purely for how little we know about him. He’s never done an interview.
What’s that big scary book you want to tackle?

How did all these 20th century writers manage to move to Paris at some point in their lives?
They just up and left for Paris!
Is it just harder to move country these days? Is there some system to stop us moving so much?
I WANT TO MOVE TO PARIS
Over the next few days I will be ordering a steady stream of books, drinking many hot drinks and keeping myself going from the small serotonin boosts these give me. If you have any book recommendations, please let me know.
