Can't stress how ironic it is that everyone right now is trying to find people selling their EthCC tickets, when we invented NFTs to LITERALLY SOLVE THIS PROBLEM 😂
I won’t let anyone push me around anymore.
I don’t care how many “x” engineer you are, I won’t let you treat me—or anyone else—as less than.
I’m standing up for myself like I should have done a long time ago.
I recently decided I want to understand how Uniswap works.
Went over several resources, and I think the one that puts it most clearly is this one by

Do you write bash scripts?
Do you feel like you're not sure exactly how the language works?
Here's a secret – bash is NOT a programming language 🤯
After you read this thread, bash scripts will start making much more sense 👇🏼

I don't know who needs to hear this but the limited HTTP response statuses don't come close to representing the myriad of situations the web presents to us
It's been tough logging on to Twitter in the last couple of days.
The timeline is full of white people inciting and committing violence against Jews.
But today I saw something different. Something I hope will last.
Solidarity between Jews, Arabs, Israelis and Muslims.
Some personal alpha:
I will be leaving Taboola in a couple of weeks 🤯
Gonna take some well-deserved time off before starting my next adventure 🚀
Stay tuned ... 👀
Trying to raise money for your crypto startup?
Use these words in your deck:
– EigenLayer
– Restaking
– SUAVE
– MEV
– ZK
Doesn't matter how you use these or in what context. No one actually understands any of it.
@browserdotsys
Me, bragging to my friends: "I haven't restarted my laptop in 753 days"
Me, crying in my therapy session: "I'm too afraid to restart my computer cause there's a 50% chance I'll get kernel panic"
@zerornella
Sorry you had to experience this.
This person is probably not ready for mentoring. I know I used to do this. I think we view this as a valid method because that's how we are taught in school.
Nowadays I try "do you know this? feel free to ask me any questions if you need"

The funny thing is, there are so many small things such as code size limit that could improve the lives of devs. There are many "quick wins" that would go a long way.
We keep comparing crypto to the internet, to banks, to government.. what if — and hear me out on this — crypto is like nothing we had before? What if most of what we know from the trad world does not apply here? Maybe, just maybe, we created something.. new?
Once again Jon hits the nail on the head, this time about multi-threading not being the main bottleneck for blockchains.
If you're looking for a high level take about performance bottlenecks and tradeoffs, give it a listen.
SVM vs EVM
@hasufl
&
@jon_charb
break down the SVM & EVM landscapes on L1s & L2s:
- SVM
@solana
&
@EclipseFND
- EVM
@ethereum
&
@monad_xyz
- Parallel execution
- Local fee markets
- State growth as a bottleneck
- Can the EVM be improved to scale like the SVM?

One of the main things I was missing since getting into
#NFTs
is a straightforward, non-scammy portfolio tracker.
Couldn't find any so I built one 🙃

Unpopular opinion: UI and UX are the same thing. You cannot change the UI without affecting the UX, and cannot affect the UX without changing the UI.
People underestimate the amount of info you can pack with text.
Video has taken over the world, but people record a 30 min video about a topic that can be covered in a single paragraph.
Israel is a nation suffering from generational PTSD.
Did you know most country roads in Israel are not straight, on purpose?
We spend our entire lives driving longer – because our grandparents thought the roads might get bombed from the air.
This is a not healthy society.
@0xAmit
When done right, open space has huge advantages. It facilitates direct communications over async ones (email, slack, etc).
@avivsinai
can prob expand more on how well this works
@taboola
@lol_russo
@HugoGiraudel
There are problems with commenting code, tho.
- Comments become outdated, creating more confusion than clarity
- Comments and documentation create a culture of RTFM instead of f2f communication and mentorship
Everything has trade-offs..
To those traveling to DevConnect in Turkey, don't be afraid of what you see on Twitter.
Turkey is a lovely theocratic dictatorship where women know their place, LGBT is outlawed, with beautiful scenery, lovely beaches and ongoing genocide of multiple minorities. It's very safe.
@bryanl
This method has a name – the Socratic method.
It's used to encourage critical thinking.
Questioning serves a double purpose:
1. It opens us up to other views, by actively soliciting opinions
2. It lets the other side introspect and consider their statements more critically
Some grifters in this space are truly unbelievable. Take
@hasufl
and
@jon_charb
for example. They teased us with UC reboot, brand new host, did 1 episode then rugged. And these are some of the most well respected people on crypto twitter. We deserve to go to 0.

i'm not falling for that hot take. that's clearly someone with a fetish for getting yelled at. i refuse to participate in that kind of perversion
@pcaversaccio
NOW for a LIMITED time period!
(until we have EOF)
YOU can use these mystery opcodes, TODAY!
Simply drop a 0xef in your bytecode and wait until it's implemented to find out what your contract does!
Will it revert? Will it change the state? So many fun possibilities!
@korndaniel1
I'm usually not the maxi type but sometimes you gotta appreciate the fact Ethereum is so far ahead on so many levels that we argue over things most other communities don't even consider
Ethereum is doing a terrible job at execution layer client diversity…except compared to the crushing majority of public networks where there’s only one client option available.
The Israeli crypto startup scene is getting hot 🔥🥵
I've been working with early stage entrepreneurs throughout the bear and I can tell you for sure — Israel will reestablish itself as a Crypto industry leader in the coming bull.
We're cooking something incredible here 🫡
@hasolidit
The only reason ICOs disappeared is because governments decided we are too stupid to invest in startups.
We are.
But this is not a good enough reason to forbid us from using our money however we like.
Reject modern "consumer protection".
Become degen.
ICOs are still the best crypto use case. Genuinely open permissionless crowd funding is still the thing that creates the most change in the world. We need to get excited about disrupting venture capital again.
@gakonst
Indexing probably at the top.
Especially since early stage consumer app teams don't tend to have expertise with sophisticated data pipelines at scale.
The Ethereum DB is a maze and figuring out what data you need and how to get it efficiently is an enormous challenge.
Before 1559 we had "intents" built into Ethereum.
Wanted a specific purchase price? You sent a gasless swap which paid at the end, only if it didn't revert. That tx would linger in the mempool until the price is such that the tx doesn't fail.
Am I doing this right
@MaxResnick1
?
Ethereum devs:
We built an economic model which pays money to large token holders
Ethereum token holders:
*collaborate in order to extract maximum value from the protocol*
Ethereum devs:
If you're optimizing for profits you are not aligned with our values 🤡
It used to be developing vs developed countries.
It's now developing vs stagnated countries.
If you are young & in a stagnated economy, move to a developing country so you don't get left behind.
@EmmaBostian
I get it's a joke, but I personally support this. Especially for new comers, it can be very difficult to understand specificity or other advanced topics (a11y, crawling, etc).
Use important. The world will keep spinning.
We built something cool 👀
The first

text records with all your info completely on-chain 🤯
Building on open protocols, we leverage ENS as your Web3 user profile.
So how can you get one as well? 👇🏼

Are you an Ethereum enjoyooor?
Do you care about scalability?
Do you care about high fees?
Go support the increase of block gas limit on Eth Magicians forum

Not endorsing Musk but as a non-american it's HILARIOUS to me that americans will watch this fucking wonder of the modern era then turn around and do everything in their power to bring Musk down
Ethereum really needs some new magic. Something to ignite our old passion. We keep deploying the same products over and over. We need to try something new, something that'll get us excited, eager, begging for more. Something that will spark joy. We need another L2.
Vitalik steps down as CEO of Ethereum.
Who will take over?
Dankrad et Drake and their Mechanisticism?
Danno & his Build First, Talk Later approach?
Georgios, King of Pharadym, whose touch turns anything to Rust?
Or GwartyGwart, Protector of the Plebs, the Unaligned?

If you build a culture that allows people to comfortably share ideas, you can have these discussions in a 10 min conversation. Email tends to lag - by the time I see your email you are at lunch, and when you come back im in a meeting. What could take 20 mins takes a whole day.
Hot Take:
Web3 won't compete with Web2 as long as we insist on immutability.
Software can't be immutable.
This goes against everything we learned about software engineering in the past two decades.
Imagine Chrome would have stayed at v1. Would it be as popular?
If you need to pit friends against each other to figure out if someone can do a job – you obviously can't do your own job.
I've interviewed hundreds of people who went to generate billions $$$ in value.
And I can tell you reference checks are worthless.
Git gud.
BREAKING: 8,641,954 ETH ($32 billion) trapped in single largest Ethereum contract and unable to be sent or spent. Will require hard fork that hasn't been written or specified yet. Timing and terms of hard fork still unknown.
@drakefjustin
How is cost per TH/s calculated?
Also does this not mean it would take 4 seconds for an attack on Bitcoin to become more expensive than an attack on Ethereum?
