This is true, the exploits of Liverpool FC - a professional football club based in the north-west of England - have been shamefully underreported by the media for the past 18 months.
Amid all the

hilarity of the Rooney/Vardy thing, it shouldn't go unnoticed that the Sun has been caught absolutely bang to rights publishing stories straight from social media without even the barest attempt at fact-checking.
Again: Wealthy, privileged people are *exactly the right people* to be putting themselves in harm's way by performing stunts like this. They're much more likely to be able to bear the financial and social cost of being prosecuted.
Tottenham vs City in the FA Cup confirmed as a Friday 8pm kick off.
The last scheduled train from London Euston to Manchester departs before the match is finished.
Disgrace. 🚮
Here is the clip.
Suella Braverman is branding all the pro-Palestinian marches as “hate marches” which have the aim, in her view, of “wiping Israel off the map”.
She includes all the tens of thousands of protestors in that statement.
According to the Guardian, James Anderson will retire from Test cricket this summer.
His Test debut came 21 years ago, against Zimbabwe at Lord's. Can you remember the teams from that game?

Watching a hippo documentary where they spin their tails in order to spray their faeces everywhere: This was the only rational course of action
Honestly I would rather England never played Australia in white ever again, if it would stop this completely self-defeating obsession with "planning for the Ashes".
🗣️ "If England want to go to Australia in four years time with a side that is capable of winning, they've got to start making decisions now"
Former England cricketer and selector, Angus Fraser, talks to Sky Sports about the team changes ahead of the West Indies test 🏏

"ooh look you're angry and frustrated because you support a team that's been denied a win by the weather" Yes? I am? How am I supposed to react? Sorry for not being magnanimous in defeat when the only thing that's defeated us is a cloud.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to announce tomorrow a £16.5bn increase in defence spending over the next four years in what is being billed as the biggest programme of investment in Britain's armed forces since the end of the Cold War
Personally played in dozens of games in which a teenage girl has been playing against and alongside middle aged cis men. It’s never caused a problem. Please don’t let these ghouls open a cricket front in their culture war.
EXCLUSIVE: Six first-class counties are demanding urgent answers from the England and Wales Cricket Board as to why a middle-aged player who transitioned from a man to a woman is being allowed to compete against girls as young as 12
The thing I’m most rattled about is the idea that only English people have been rattled by the Rattled Ashes. Two wickets and an entire nation goes running to the teacher.
It’s not a “moral maze”. From the moment those recordings were made public, there was a signpost pointing down a straight road marked “the obviously right thing to do” and United have chosen not to follow it.
Anyone over the age of 12 who thinks “materially comfortable people occasionally hold left-wing views” is some kind of unplayable argumentative doosra should log off and never return imo

Don’t want to amplify this berk beyond his 46k (!) followers, but this follow-up is incredibly revealing as to what his actual motivations are. “Pleeeeeese get mad at me, I did a controversial.”
Me, waking up: Surely the discourse can’t get any worse today
The discourse: The Jewish Chronicle has published a piece in which Douglas Murray says how bad the Nazis felt about doing genocide
of course the Jewish Chronicle invite Douglas Murray onto their pages to tell us Hamas are worse than the Nazis, as the SS were actually really very troubled when carrying out the mass slaughter of Jews.
amazing lengths Zionists go to to justify the genocide they're committing.

Just checked their TLs and one of them has literally not slept because he’s been too busy channeling the wrath of his years of legal experience into shouting at strangers on Twitter who’ve said he’s pooed his pants.
Lovely, lovely man. Can't imagine anyone could have ever had a bad word to say about him. Passionate and forceful but kind and empathetic with it. RIP Dan

I like how even in his fevered imagination he can’t come up with anything that would be practically different other than “there would be a mess-up with the vaccine schedule, like there is now, but it would be because trans”.
Counterpoint: It’s ceding control of the game to the tiny minority who would react with aggression and/or violence to a dismissal they wrongly perceive as unfair.

The radical/far-right have been defeated, not by restrictions on legal speech, hate crime laws, digital de-platforming, orgs like Hope not Hate, but by the centre-right at the ballot box

Remember saying years ago watching Root and Stokes in a big partnership - Root at his best makes batting look easy; Stokes makes it look incredibly hard and like he’s the only person in the world who can do it.

You've been unfair regardless of who bought him the pyjamas. Takes a special kind of mind to see a child in pyjamas, read a description of the poverty he's growing up in, and think (let alone say) "yeah but how come he's allowed pyjamas?" Congratulations.
A lot of people say the Windrush scandal, the Grenfell disaster and the hostile environment were bad, but what they don't realise is that the woman responsible was once civil to someone who accidentally bumped into her, makes you think
I have never agreed with Theresa May, but I think we all have to admit she was the last genuinely decent person to be PM. I remember being in Portcullis House and I accidentally walked straight into her, I was mortified, she was nothing but lovely about it.
Genuinely nice lady.
